Yesterday was my very first time eating here. We ordered the steak stromboli which tasted ok, but it was nothing spectacular by any means. The waitress was quite friendly, but not trained too well. I had to ask her for a fork, and she then placed it on the table, which is a no no. Tables are filthy, and full of germs. I also had to ask for a spoon for the sauce, and that was also placed on the table, and we never received a knife, but I didn't want to ask again for a third time. There were kids walking back and forth in and out of the kitchen, I'm assuming the owners children, but I'm not sure. They never really came back to check on us except to bring the check. If I had new customers at my restaurant i would definitely be a bit more hospitable towards them in an attempt to make them feel appreciated. I'm not saying anybody was rude to us, just not as kind as I would've liked from a small community restaurant. I'm different than most, I go out of my way to make others feel right at home. I get enjoyment out of being kind towards others. Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I wonder why I am how I am and others are the way hey are, but i guess it's what makes us all unique. I hope this information is helpful to you and your organization. Have a very Blessed...
Read moreMy wife is attending a conference just outside Elizabethville, PA. I dropped her off and went looking for gas and a place for lunch. While filling up, I saw Jo-Jo's sign on Main St. I went in with the idea of ordering a large veggie pizza to go. Then I decided to eat a slice in one of Jo-Jo's red vinyl booths, a positive sign, to me, of an old school pizzeria. One slice turned into two and I still had enough slices for the duration of my wife's 3.5 day conference. The pizza was excellent: hand tossed dough, fresh sliced veggies, real cheese, and toasty thin crust all baked in an iron (I think) oven. The waitress was nice enough, but a little curt with me when I asked if the soups were beef or chicken based, which as a vegetarian, were not for me. Otherwise, as above, outstanding pizza and a lot of offerings I can't eat, but maybe you can. As for atmosphere, red booths, red wood tables, brass railings, and best of all 60's - 70's rock without commercials. They're playing the Beatles now. Good food + good music = good...
Read morePizza was ok. The 2 of us each ordered a pan pizza. There was a table of 8 in the restaurant besides us but they were just getting their food when we came in and it was 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday ( this is all for context). We ordered and 32 minutes later the poor waitress came out to tell us that they only had 1 pan pizza dough and did we want to share it? We kind of looked at her and said " the cook just realized a half hour later that he didn't have 2 pan doughs?" She offered to sell us slices but we deferred. When she finally brought the pizza out, about 15 minutes later, it was warm, not hot. We ate it because if we sent it back it may have been another 15 minutes and we had already been there an hour. I don't fault the young waitress; she was doing her best. But I will think twice about Jo Jo's the next time through Elizabethville. Maybe I'll try Pizza Delight...
