Butcher’s Burger — Restaurant in Elk Grove

Ate tonight 5/19 and we ordered 2 cheeseburgers and 2 shakes ($28). The oreo shakes were phenomenal. I bit into my cheeseburger and while it was good from seasoning outside, it was completely pink/rare inside. Thinking they were usually rare being first time eating there, I ate it because I had nothing else during the day and was extremely hungry. I asked my parent about his, and his was well done. Then I realized mine was severely undercooked and now wished I had taken a photo. For the last hour I've been 🤮 nonstop a mere 3 hours after consumption. If you eat here, inspect your burger first. I haven't been this sick in 7 years from food 😞. The staff and atmosphere was very friendly. I'd like to believe the burger was just not cooked properly via timers or accidentally pulled off grill too early. If I go back again, it'll be for a shake and maybe the chicken...

Burger was pretty good, reminds me of Pangaea's Burger without tomatoes and they use chopped lettuce. It can get kinda messy depending how hard you hold the burger. The meat juices soak easily into the buns and can fall apart. I couldn't finish the fries, which were good too because I was so full from the burger.

The wait took a little bit, maybe 5-10 minutes with no line.

There is open seating and tables. some areas have a tv, so you can watch a football or basketball game while you eat.

I give the atmosphere a lower score because I'm sensitive to cigarette smoke (as expected for a casino). It's not as strong in the dining area compared to the main floor of the casino, but I wish I could have better enjoyed my burger with fresher air and its meat and...

I am basing this on my last visit. I've been coming here at least 2-3 times a month and the burger joint has NOT been consistent. I too thought they had the best burger hands down but it now depends on who's working the grill. There is only 1 person who's consistent when cooking and assembling the burger and that is the only time I will eat there now. They also make sure you get hot and fresh French fries with your hot and fresh burger. I will update when I get his name.
