I love that Elk Grove has such a unique restaurant like Streetzlan, and I'm so glad I found it! It's located in a strip mall, but from the street it sits on a corner and you can see the signs advertising tacos and beers. The waitress/hostess greeted us warmly and and provided some ice water in a bottle that we could pour ourselves, which was nice. When it came time to order our drinks, she suggested one of their watermelon/strawberry Agua Frescas. What a refreshing delicious drink this was. It was not too sweet and it indeed was very fresh. For my food choice, I chose the brisket taco and a fish taco. My husband ordered one of their burritos. Let me start with the fish taco: omg, one of the best fish tacos l've had outside of Cabo! The fish was battered and tasted super fresh. However the slaw and sauce just made all the flavors come together on the blue corn tortilla. The star of the meal was the brisket taco though. The meat is so tender it just falls apart and the smoke flavor and seasoning is on point. The salsa on the taco was definitely on the spicy side, which I love, but you may want to get it on the side if your taste buds say a big no to spicy. My husband's burrito was ginormous with plenty for leftovers. I love the ambiance in the place and they even have an outdoor patio with a huge smoker they use for that amazing brisket. I did not order beer but they have a pretty good selection that would go great with tacos. I really love that they bring culture and delicious street food together for a unique experience. I can't wait to come back and try the...
Read moreThis spot is TOO good for us LOL. Thank you fellow reviewers. Dont let the out-of-the-ordinary items fool you. (Poke nachos, bbq, etc) This spot shows theyre doing a lot but they also do it well.
Green Flags: They make their own tortillas. They make their own chips. Making those in house shows a spot pays close attention to details. We all know that homemade items make HUGE differences in taste.
What caught my eye was the Chicharon taco...Typically pork belly items at restaurants are priced higher than the rest. But not this one. This was included in their Choose 3 Tacos for $17. And it was AMAZING. Its crunchy. airy. Paired with a simple salsa. This taco alone is worth $15 or maybe even more. My other 2 tacos were the carne asada and the fish taco. This whole platter is easily a $30 priced tray or even more. The quality is just top notch. This is more like some fancy/bistro type of mexican food. Just wow. Even the Carne Asada was grilled medium rare steak.
I am shocked because this spot is almost "too cool" for elk grove LOLOL. But no, our options in this area are really basic and bland. Im so glad this place is here. Please dont go anywhere. Coming back for that brisket taco and more...
Read moreOutrageous Prices. We tried the new brunch menu. Egg sandwich, tater tots and chilaquiles (fried tortillas with cheese). Over $40!! We thought the tots would at least come with the sandwich (like most places), but no, an extra $10! The prices at this place are more expensive than good downtown Sac restaurants.
At The Porch Restaurant you can get really good breakfast sandwiches for cheaper - Chef Sando $14, Hot Brown $15, Shrimp Poboy $16. At Bacon and Butter, a Michelin recognized restaurant with much better food, you get bigger portions…and their side of breakfast potatoes is just $5! This place is out of control.
Edit: Name calling is unnecessary and unprofessional. Especially when I said nothing but truth. You built the menu and posted it on Instagram showing the tots included with the sandwich. You changed that, to selling them separately (increasing the price over 40 percent for the same amount of food ). Great for you, bad for your customers. We didn’t check back on Instagram to see if the menu had changed before we walked in and ordered. That wouldn’t have changed the fact that your prices are high. And the purpose of these reviews are to give our opinions…not argue...
