We sat in the restaurant portion, which was very hot and stuffy and full of flies. The flies would not leave us alone as we waited 30+ minutes for our food to show up. I finally asked if we could have it to go so that we eat our food in an atmosphere that wasn’t so hot and loaded with houseflies. I have never seen a restaurant use the heel of the bread to make a grilled cheese sandwich until now, the grilled cheese sandwich was so greasy it was almost un-edible, but when you combine that with the stale bread, it was a total bust. The hamburgers we ordered were the greasiest burgers we have ever been served, the buns were so greasy they were hard to hold onto, and when you went to pick the burgers up, Grease was running out of them. Read moreStopped in here during Thunder on the Mountain Fireworks show. Live music, people dancing, friendly bartenders (a bunch of em). Most lively bar I’ve ever seen in a town of less than 200 people, not that I’ve been to many of them. Awesome decor, the music was good, the fireworks outside were cool, the laid back atmosphere was great. Not sure how lively the place usually is, sure it’s a lot more toned down, but would definitely be worth stopping by if you are out here camping or something. Didn’t try food or drink but hopefully I can one day if I ever end up back at the end of the highway! Not sure if the place actually has vacancy as an inn but if so would probably be cool to crash...
