Great portions, lousy taste. Typical Midwestern Chinese setting bad art and tables with vinyl covered chairs and cramped booths. Wait staff was slow, dumb or new and we sat for quite a while considering the place really wasn't that busy. Based on the "order to table time" the entrees were individually cooked, the the egg rolls we're factory produced as was the "Crab Rangoon" (without crab of course). I had the ubiquitous Mongolian beef which had a nice spice to it and was generously portioned, but not more than two stars in flavor. I ordered the white rice, which generally safe, but to at the table had the fried rice and it had the taste of what I imagined a cigarette ash might taste like. I've never eaten burned rice before so maybe that was what I tasted? I had visions of a sweaty Chinese dude in the back standing over the fry pan with a coffin nail hanging out of the corner of his mouth. Lastly I might be missing it but who puts chopped water chestnuts in egg drop soup? If you are looking for over priced, slow service and no atmosphere, then this is your new favorite...

So as a local, we come here about once a month. The food is superb for the most part if you like flavor and spice! I’ve had about a dozen different dishes. The Szechuan Chicken is still my favorite! Items with spice are clearly marked on the menu with a chili. Other non-spicy dishes are just as good. Fried rice has a smokey flavor and is perfect for me. For the midwest one of the best! They actually believe in vegetables! They often run on a small staff so sometimes there is a bit of a wait if they get busy or have a bunch of take out. I don’t know if we have waited more than 30 minutes though. If you go for lunch or dinner, the special for 2 is a deal! I prefer their egg drop soup, but I hear their hot and sour is just as good! Delicious, must try! I am from Cedar Rapids working out of town and ordered the crispy shrimp, black pepper chicken and pot stickers. The pot stickers are large and full. The flavor is savory and and texture is wonderful. The crispy shrimp is indeed crispy and loaded with flavor and covered in a delicious sauce.
