This was the first time I ever went to the original pancake house. The atmosphere was nice. A lot of older people in the place. But the atmosphere was cool. The waitresses and the hostess or exceptionally polite and courteous. They were always there to make sure your water coffee or whatever you were drinking was refilled. They were patient very patient when it came to you ordering and they were quick when it came to the food being served to you. My only concern was the the prices of the plates and entrees. They were a little high and the person I was with had been there many times before and said that the servings were a little smaller than they used to be when they would come regularly few years back which I can kind of understand that happening because this happened to every single place that serves food. Even supermarkets. Anyway, I have no problems with their food it was excellent it was good. And even after we finished eating in the person I was with went to the restroom it was in there for a long long time. I was able to talk with their manager and we had a very good and long conversation. Just about everything that was the subject that we talked about at the time. Very friendly even the workers as they were cleaning up very friendly very happy to be working where they're working too. I like to see that in a workplace. I was very impressed. We were there after they're closing. At least an hour after and they were not rushing us out and I was not ignored the whole time I was there. I enjoyed a place. I think it's a very very nice and decent place to go for breakfast even the late breakfast. I highly recommend this place. As I said the prices are a little steep but it's worth it. It really is. Even the patrons there. Very nice. Their manager wonderful woman. Love the way she handled her crew and the patrons that were there. Especially me. Hats off to her. I'm sorry I forgot her name. But I'll be back there to see her again. You can bet that. I'm bringing back my girlfriend with me too that stayed in the bathroom...

Read moreDearest Original Pancake House,
Thank you so very much for your time, consistency and efforts to continue the best breakfast products at the Encinitas location. We have been patronizing your "little gem" of a breakfast place for over two and a half decades as our neighborhood "Go To" when we have our family or out of town visitors come to stay at our beach home. The service is always quick to bring out our fresh juice and the specialty blend coffee while we read the wonderful variety of flapjacks and ponder, hmmm which shall I have? Yet, I almost always get the beautifully browned Dutch Baby! Yum! It's a real treat to impress our visitors with the warmth of your charming, decorative, homey environment. This is a real breakfast stop. The breakfast bacons, sausages, Canadian bacon and cured ham are wonderful and the kosher hash is luscious and very filling under the two grade AA eggs with a side of your delicious potato pancakes. Never change and never leave this area or my family will be forever heartbroken. May we never forget, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" Sincerely, The Francavilla...
