I have to give this place only 2 stars based on our server. This was our first time there. The place was packed, and a there was a wait line. This usually tells me that we have chosen a good place to eat! The wait was short, we were seated within 10 minutes of entering the door. So far so good! The waitress asked if we wanted drinks, told her 3 waters and soda. Twenty minutes later no drinks and order had not been taken. I had to wave my menu in the air to get service. She came over and said you wanted 3 waters and an orange juice, I'll get those are you ready to order? Told her not orange juice, soda. She takes order, then comes back with the water and the orange juice! Made her take it back and bring the soda. Our food did not arrive until 1 hour and 5 minutes after we entered the door. More than 45 minutes after we ordered. We only had typical breakfast foods listed on the menu.... to add to the aggravation the booth next us had people sit down after us, order, eat and leave before we got or food. It was the same waitress. When she brought the food I said, "do you realize that we have been seated for over an hour, That other people were seated after us and have eaten and already left?" She said that she was asking the kitchen to put our order in before some of the others. My feeling is that she was incompetent and did not put our order In and was trying to blame it on the cooks. To make it up to us she proudly told us she was taking the drinks off the bill. So I got my $2 soda for free. Wow, killer customer service. Needless to say, I saved myself a tip as the service did not warrant one. On a positive note the food was first class. Cooked properly, tasty and good sized servings. The pricing was about average. This was a definite one and done though based on...
Read moreAs we entered we were greeted by an unbelievably rude waiter with an attitude. "JUST SIT OVER THERE, SOMEWHERE..." he barked and waived his hand dismissingly to one side of the near vacant restaurant. So we did, and settled in. He immediately started yelling at us from across the restaurant "NOT THERE! NOT THERE!". We look around, only one other table was taken, and we were confused. He yells again "COME TO THIS SIDE!", opposite of where he originally instructed, then stomped us over to a dirty table directly under a television blaring a soap opera. We should have left. The service got worse, the food was slow and cold, coffee never refilled, never checked on, etc. Finally, I decide I'll just eat my toast and move on. I look for the jellies...no jellies. So, I had to get up, walk all the way across the room to ask for jelly for my toast. He just glared. So, I said "Well then, how about the check?" I went back and sat down. Literally 13 minutes later he came over and slapped two little plastic jelly containers in front of me. I was pissed, but I just glared at him. He said "WHAT!? YOU WANT MORE?!" I had to estimate the total because he never bothered bringing the check. I threw cash on the table and went to leave. I see him standing behind the counter with a smerk on his smug face. He got the single bird salute. Bad food, horrible service and the opposite of "atmosphere". They won't be there...
Read moreWe stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Upon looking through the quite large menu, we decided on our lunch choices and ordered a grinder and a cup of chowder. The waitress came back to tell us that they do not serve grinders on Sunday or make soup on Sunday so we had to go through the menu and choose something different. I ordered the turkey Reuben, which was delicious. The rye bread was grilled perfectly, so it was nice and crispy and buttery, the turkey was thick cut and the sauerkraut Russian dressing were delicious. I love the little basket of fries that come with the meal, but I did chuckle over the teeny tiny little bowl of coleslaw. That was about a tablespoon full of slaw, and I could barely fit my fork in that bowl. My partner got the bruschetta chicken melt, and he was also very pleased with his meal. The waitress was young and very sweet, but definitely needed to pay a little bit more attention to her tables. We ended up with three completely empty glasses at the end of our table, waiting for refills,...
