After debating for about half an hour on where to eat dinner, we decided on Keltic Table & Tap. Located right up the road from our hotel, it was an easy choice. We had a party of 6 on a busy Saturday evening, so we had about a half an hour wait. The restaurant was very accommodating for our larger party. Most other tables had 2 or 4 people at them. We started with a plate of nachos for the table, and they were massive! Lots of cheese and other toppings. Our only complaint about the nachos was that the second layer of cheese was not melted at all. A little more time in the broiler, and this issue is solved. Still very tasty, but weird mouth feel having melted cheese on top, then un melted shredded cheese in the middle of the nachos. Very generous portion for $12.99. Everybody at the table had something a little different for dinner, so it is hard to speak for 5 others and their opinions, but everybody was happy as we were eating. The Mac & Cheese looked phenomenal, I will be back to try it! The Sheppard's Pie also looked fantastic. Two others in our party got burgers, both said they were cooked perfectly, and juicy with fresh tasting toppings. A chicken quesadilla was ordered for a meal. Lots of melty cheese on the inside with lots of grilled chicken, but not mentioned on the menu were the red onions, and there was A LOT of them. For someone that doesn't like onions, it was a problem. I got the buffalo chicken wrap, with crispy chicken tossed in the "hellfire" sauce. I like to live life on the edge with my spiciness, and this sauce checked all the boxes. At first I thought it was all talk, but as I continued to eat my wrap, the spice level started to increase. By the end of it, I was sniffling and could barely speak to my table. Our bill was $163, and considering the amount of food and alcoholic beverages we got (about 8 total, great selection of beer, I forgot to mention), we felt like we robbed the place. We visit the Springfield MA area yearly, and this restaurant will be on our...
Read moreI order food from here frequently as I work right across the street. Normally I order with Nick over the phone, who is AMAZING. So I based my star categories on when I deal with Nick, the main one is based on today, 11/9/24. Nick is always super attentive to my order, remembers my regular orders and always makes sure I have the sauces I like etc. I’ve now come to see if Nick isn’t there, I just can’t order anymore. One time, I got overcharged by like $6 when they gave me a big salad when i had asked for a side salad, which I threw most of it away as I didn’t want a salad that big. Not a big deal. Another time they left me standing there waiting forever and my food sitting there when it would have taken 30 seconds to cash me out, I do have a job to do and get back to just like they have a job to do with taking care of other customers. And I kind of get it, they assume they aren’t getting tipped on a To go order but I always make sure to tip Nick at least a couple bucks every time. But this was a little appalling today to see they severely burned the patty melt and made sure to put it face down, like I wouldn’t have noticed, like they were deliberately hiding it. The other side was the same way. They weren't busy at all, there were like, 2 cars in the parking lot. I would have respected it more if they were honest and asked me to wait for another, but I thought this was crummy to do.. . Even though it was SO black I noticed as soon as I picked it up so I'm pretty certain this wasn't that they just didn't see it. I know more places care less about to go orders, figuring you won't see the customer again and they can't really send it back, but i do come here frequently.. I was already back to work when I saw it, and that street is a little dangerous to cross (I’ve been almost hit a few times in the crosswalk with the walk light on) not to mention I was STARVING, so j just had to...
Read moreUPDATE: This has become a regular spot for us and friends. I bring my band in every week after practice. However, we are getting very frustrated as it seems the kitchen closes whenever they want to. We went in last night (7/10) at about 9:33, the kitchen regularly closes at 10 o'clock. We asked for a table, the sever went to seat us, then went into the kitchen and came back out telling us that the kitchen was closed/closing. Disappointed and hungry, we walked out of the restaurant. Passing a group of 6 or 7 on the way out talking about how hungry they were. We sat in the parking lot, waiting for them to come out so we could suggest somewhere to eat as it seemed they were from out of town. They never came out, and it seems they were sat down to eat. This is the second week in a row that we've had issues with this, the prior week they had almost no food left on the menu, they were out of nearly everything and reluctant to seat us. This has been extremely disappointing for us as we really like the food, but we feel like we've been let down by a good friend... We ended up visiting a location down the street that serves food until 11 o'clock and enjoyed what we ate, but we are hoping this gets cleared up so we can feel confident coming back. Changing my rating to 2 stars at the moment, hoping to be able to raise back up soon.
ORIGINAL: Visited with my wife on opening weekend, service was fantastic, our waitress was super attentive and the food and drink was excellent! Safe to say we will be regulars and good to see a restaurant like this in our neighborhood! Would love to see some live Irish music in here on a semi regular basis, and would also love to see the "buffaque" flavor make it's way over from...
