I was extremely disappointed during my most recent visit to this Subway location. The store was filthy from the moment I walked in. There was dirt and food scattered all over the floors, and the counters were no better. Most alarming, the sweet tea container had no lid, and the soda fountain counter was covered in a huge puddle of slimy brown liquid that looked like it had been sitting there for some time.
The younger woman working at the counter was kind and clearly trying to do her best, but she was alone and had no support. Unfortunately, this seems to be a recurring issue at this location, staff left without help, trying to manage everything on their own. This is not a reflection on the frontline employee but rather on poor management and ownership, who have failed to provide adequate staffing and basic cleanliness standards.
It’s worth noting that this store already received a poor rating on its health inspection several months ago. Given what I saw, I have to question why nothing has improved since then. Management needs to step up immediately, both to support their employees and to ensure this location meets the most basic standards of cleanliness and food safety. When we got up to the counter the employee flat out said, “Please go somewhere else.” We thought he was kidding. It was so out of context. We asked him why he would say that and he said he had no time to replenish his workstation. We told him we would be patient and wait for him.
Months later my teen decided to apply for this company, hoping he could improve the atmosphere. It has become apparent there is no fixing the insanity of this management.
