The Pink Pony — Restaurant in Englewood

Taken me a while to post this but felt I should finally take the time. We rented two cottages over a long weekend in late September. We now know most stores and restaurants close (or have very short hours) at that time in BG. We had no choice as we were celebrating my mothers 90th birthday. Generally, we had a great time - the cottages we rented were perfect, the weather was gorgeous, the beaches empty and beautiful. We did, however, have a very negative experience at the Pink Pony. We went one afternoon to get ice cream for the 5 children and 4 adults in our group. The children’s size serving is one scoop- perfect. My youngest grandson asked for a scoop with a little chocolate and a little vanilla. The woman behind the counter said she couldn’t do that. We asked why and she pointed to the three serving sizes they offer. We asked if she could make an exception (we were the only ones in the shop, actually the only ones in town I believe! Certainly it wouldn’t have caused a rush of children asking for a mix of flavors) she refused, again pointing to the serving sizes and saying she had to follow the rules. We were happy to pay more but didn’t really want him to have more than one scoop. Nope! Couldn’t be done. We let it go and as we were walking out asked if they’d be open until 4 every day while we were there (as the sign said). Her response was that she could close whenever she wanted. It was very clear she chose which ‘rules’ she had to follow. We never went back and although we want to go back to BG (at a different time of year) we will not be getting our ice cream there. Being in a resort area does not mean customer service...

Tried to come in at 6:00 P.M. Today to rent a cart for 2 hours. The clerk told us that she didn't think she could rent them to us because it was late in the day. The sign said that they were open until 9:00 P.M. And my wife asked why they couldn't if they were open until that time and we only wanted 2 hours. She said that she didn't know why and my wife asked if she could check with someone on it and that we would even pay extra if we needed to. The clerk said with attitude "Fine, let's do it." And took out a clipboard and tossed it on the table. My wife asked if she was sure and that we didn't want to get her in trouble with anyone. The clerk left then came back and said she wouldn't do it because she wouldn't stay open.

Not sure if she was having a bad day or what, but my wife and I both felt disrespected and quickly left. Sad because we both really wanted to buy some other products from their store. But I could not recommend them with that type of...

Very bad service and my clothes got ruined because they don’t know how to clean a table, they left bleach all over the table and didn’t even wipe it. I know the Coronovirus is of great concer, but at least when u spray the table with bleach please wipe it in. Me and my moms clothes are ruined and they were very rude about it, they lied and said it wasn’t them. Then they didn’t even say sorry and said, bleach will dry out! Then when we showed them the bleach stained clothes they said , oh sorry. Newsflash, bleach doesn’t dry out. So now me and my moms clothes are ruined. Nice one. I don’t recommend and there ice cream really isn’t that good...I say go over the street to loose caboose! They are super friendly and have lots of way better ice cream and very very helpful people!
