Happy Wok — Restaurant in Erie

I usually don't write reviews but the food from this establishment was so bad I barely could eat half of it without throwing it away which is quite rare for me (ill eat almost anything). I ordered the general tsos chicken and a side of beef fried rice. The general tsos was oily, very dark meat that was stringy and dry. The sauce used for it was definitely made either that morning or days before because it was almost coagulated in texture. The beef fried rice had no flavor whatsoever and then rice itself was not fried at all, it looked like they took steamed rice and mixed in a little soy sauce to make it look like fried rice but it was just a slight tinge of pale yellow and the beef was completely flavorless. The rice was definitely and absolutely not fresh whatsoever because it was hard and crusty around the box as if it was made many hours prior and reheated in a microwave. I am a huge fan of American Chinese food and saw the reviews and figured it would be amazing for the high price I paid but the food was worse than eating at a cheap Chinese buffet. Will never step foot in this place again. I should also mention that I recently moved to the area after having lived in many cities across the US and have noticed that the food in Erie is overall pretty terrible and a 5 star place in Erie is equivalent to a 2 star anywhere else. The people here seem to have never left Erie and have extremely low standards for food quality regardless of what kind...

We’ve been ordering from here since we moved back to Erie almost three years ago. Never had a problem until last night. We ordered online for delivery and the website estimated delivery qt 6:49PM.

At 7:15 I called to see if our order was ok. It was almost 7:25 before the busy signal on the number stopped. The person who answered the phone took our address and said the food was out for delivery. At 7:45 I tried to call again, but this time the phone rang with no answer to repeated calls until after 8:00. The same employee answered and then put us on hold.

While we were on hold the driver arrived with our food. We explained to him what had been happening and he was very confused. He had just picked up our order what I would calculate to be no more than ten minutes before. He was very apologetic, and said he was the only driver working that night. We do not fault him!

However, being misled that our food was out for delivery over half an hour before it was actually even picked up has, excuse the pun, left a bad taste in our mouths. I doubt we will order...

So golden wok was closed so I decided to try this place because of the 4.3 star rating. I'm glad I did because now I know where not to go again. First the dumplings go to any Chinese restaurant and order dumplings then go to happy wok and order the same see the difference? These dumplings are super super small and dough was soggy not worth the money. The beef on a stick was more like a small piece of beef on a stick for 7 dollars I was mad. Smaller then anywhere else I've been. They were good but not worth the price. I will say the general TSO chicken was good the chicken was probably the best if anywhere I've been. I was disappointed especially at the dumplings. My wife laughed when she saw them after I told her they don't look good. They are literally tiny. Just...
