Smokey Shack BBQ — Restaurant in Espanola

We stopped in on the way by and we will be by every time we come through now! We had the brisket, burnt, ends and pulled pork. Every bite was second to none! Amazingly fresh and so moist. The texture was spot on and the spicy sauce was a medley of flavor that complimented all of it. The potato salad was not your run of the mill potato salad. The flavor was subtle and savory with a smooth texture that made you want another bite after every bite! The peach cobbler had just enough crisp and plenty of peaches. Not overly sweet, but perfectly balanced to complement the already fantastic meal. Super friendly staff with a great menu and plenty of knowledge to guide you in the right direction. Plenty of outdoor seating for large crowds and a few tables inside for a more intimate meal. We had our pup with us and they even have a special treat for them! Excited to finally have a great tasting barbecue place here in town. We desperately needed some variety beyond the standard run of the mill fast food, hamburgers, pizza, and Mexican food.

Ordered a half rack of ribs with two sides and everything was made to perfection. Ribs were fall off the bone cooked and sauce was delicious. The beans are more your standard pintos rather than Bush's, but no complaints here. The peach cobbler is flavorful and mushy, yet crunchy.

I wonder how they would attempt creamed corn as a side... Just a recommendation I would totally be up for 😁

Smokey Shack is one of the best places to eat in Northern New Mexico. The food is insanely good, the service is amazing. The people who run the places are so genuinely nice and caring and I don’t think there are many places I can say that about. Just because of them I would support this place regardless of the food. That being said, the bbq is always on point and the care they take with the food is undeniable! Juicy, smoky, cooked perfectly. The sides are seasoned just right, every time! I must say, the Texas Tater is literally one of the best dishes I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t say enough good things...
