This place is a rip off and they cannot get the simplest of orders correct. I want beans, cheese and meat. Thats it. I always leave the rice out because I am allergic to cilantro and I cant guarantee that there is no cilantro in different restaurants mexican rice.
The burrito Mexicano (aka dinner burrito) includes rice, beans and meat, onions and cilantro. When I have ordered the dinner burrito "all beans no rice, no cilantro" they charged me $1 to take out the rice and got it wrong. Why charge to remove an item? There have been times when I couldn't even eat the item because they put cilantro on it.
We asked them exactly how to order it (because they kept getting it wrong) and was told to order as a bean and cheese burrito with carnitas. My husband ordered it that way and even confirmed at the window that it was just meat, beans and cheese. When he got home, the burrito was just meat and rice. No beans or cheese.
Today, because it was 8pm and not much else is open We stopped by again. They actually got the order right, but they charged us $10.50 each for the bean meat and cheese burrito. When we got the receipt, there was a $1.50 charge for each burrito making them $12/ea. When I called to ask why they said "when you order the bean and cheese with meat we charge you for the cheese. I should have told you we charge $1.50 for cheese."
Per their google menu, which is listed as updated 2 days ago, the bean and cheese burrito with choice of protein is $7.99 and the burrito Mexicano is $9.99. Why was I charged $12/ea for something listed as much cheaper on their menu? Even door dash, Uber eats and their website all list the same item for much less than I was charged.
They don't even charge the same amount for the same item. They charged us $9.99 for the exact same order last time and even got it completely wrong. This place has mediocre quality, cannot get the simplest of orders correct and charge you whatever...
Read moreThis place had been open a while so we decided to give it a try. I like spicy & decided to try their guacamole & nacho cheese, horchata, taco salad & chicken fajitas & order of $5 chips.
First we noticed the price was much higher than FaceBook or their website. Second our preliminary check of the food seemed correct but when we got home we discovered what looked like the order of guacamole was really just what was supposed to come on the taco salad - the tomato.
So we were down $4. The “salad” that comes with the fajitas was really just iceberg lettuce cut into 3 chunks with a tomato & ranch. Never had a salad with fajitas anyway.
Next the $2 side of nacho cheese was 2 barely full 2 oz cups of bland canned nacho cheese.
Well the taco salad was a good portion & the reason for 1 star. The other star is because the portion of the fajitas was substantial too.
The fajitas tasted like paprika covered bell peppers. No flavor, even the onions were bland. Beans tasted like Rosarita refried beans. I ordered 2 extra tortillas which was a good idea because the meal came with one 12 inch tortilla.
Now the hot sauce tasted like watered down ketchup with maybe some black pepper, no flavor, no spice.
The horchata was watered down but not the worst I’ve had. The worst goes to Don Pedro in the Rockwood area.
All in all not worth $40 though the chips & entrees were a decent size & the tiny bit of guacamole we did get was pretty good. The flour tortillas were good too.
I won’t be eating here again. I was spoiled by living in Southern California for years & my brother married into a Mexican family. Every birthday, holiday, etc. I was spoiled with amazing & authentic food!
I suggest grabbing Pepe’s if the are open or going to Sandy for Taco Bell. Pepe’s is pretty darn good & Taco Bell has more flavor & is cheaper than Sol...
Read moreThey keep hiking prices up, which I understand but with the hike the quality is declining. I paid almost $4 per crunchy taco and each taco had about an inch of meat, maybe 10 shreds of cheese, scanty lettuce and burnt shells. I keep telling myself I'm never going back because it keeps getting worse. There's not many options in Estacada. I wish this place would close so a business with more pride in quality and customer service could move in. Service is slow and staff are not welcoming or friendly. I called in my order, wasn't told a total and on pick up was told to pay $39 for 12 tacos. That angered me then when I got home to see what I paid for, I was livid. (I took pictures because of how pathetic these looked, unfortunately the pictures don't...
