The Old Mill Restaurant — Restaurant in Estancia

In the past this was my go to place for eating out - I support local as much as possible. I have frequented this place since it was first opened by the Lutrick family. Today has changed that positioning for me. The food quality was pure garbage, unable to eat their burrito or burger - it was so bad my dogs (that eat anything) wouldn't touch it. Not sure where they are sourcing their ingredients but what we got there today was pure garbage. Unless they up their quality game I would NOT recommend eating any beef offerings from this place and would be highly suspect of other ingredients being used. To think - in the heart of NM surrounded by grass fed cattle this place uses what must be the cheapest most questionable beef knock off available. What a shame the Old Mill used to be quality food and service. I am waiting for a call back from the owners to ask for a refund - with or without a refund my review stands.

Update -the "supervisor" Miranda called back - I told her I wanted to talk to Marth the owner/owners wife and left a message for Martha. I expressed to Miranda what this post says, she countered with they are still a busy place etc. - I told her that was great but that I still wanted to talk to Martha and that I was putting this review up. Unfortunately, my review is not going to be positive. This restaurant has changed ownership a few years ago. The menu is simple and you would think it would help. Unfortunately, the young help doesn't know about service. Very lazy and not able to communicate a simple conversation. They sit behind the counter with they're phone in hand. They take orders but it seems to be to complicated, because I never get what I order. I have visited this place approximately 4 times and have come to the desicision ,that is more than enough. You will be better servered with a 10 minute drive to Moriarty. You probably are someone like me who usually doesn't listen or read and believe reviews. I am saying, okay. Let them over price you for a ten minute drive. Also, check your to go order. They never have Carne Adovada...check by just asking a simple question ,if they have it. Don't believe me ,go ahead and find out for...

I really like the staff and the food is generally good to great. But the service is very spotty often my order is incomplete or badly cooked. Today I ordered 2 burgers and gave them 25 minutes to complete the order before I walked over. They forgot one of my burgers, and handed me the one burger with out any type of bag to carry it in. I explained that I walked there and was given a look like I was crazy to ask for a bag to carry the food in. I needed to order a second burger for my lunch mate and had to wait …. Needless to say the burgers were not at the same temperature….. it’s very infuriating. I hope someone cares a bit more maybe this review will help the old mill be a better...
