Very warm and friendly staff, warm and cozu environment. The interior lighting gives a anime like vibe where the customers are transported to a street food court. The dimmed yellow lights give this restaurant a magical feel.
But the sushi is mediocre. This place is the best with their TAKOYAKİ. I would also assume that they are good with cooked food in general. İts probably the only place I had Takoyaki that tasted so good. The dough is flavored and its fried perfectly the sauce drizzle combinations are amazing. The bonito flakes adds a special smoky umami flavor. The octopus is cut bite sized so you don’t have to chew for hours before you swallow it. All the other Takoyakis I tried previously were a mush of dissapointment because the dough was tasted almıst like a salty custard which I didn’t appreciate because I do not like mushy textures. But this restaurant is a winner for me for Takoyakis.
Tough my experience went downhill everytime I ordered something new. Though the ending was pretty good.
My second order was TUNA TATAKİ I was expecting a salad but I saw exactly what I read in the menu. The fish was cold and too thickly cut the pickles were quick vinegar pickles with lots of salt. I belive the pickles don’t really go well with the Tuna Tataki. I was surprised to have a cold seared Tuna. A tuna that’s torched on its outside being cold felt weird to me.
My third order was the DANDY ROLL it had a really nice Mango sauce but got overwhelming after 2 bites this roll needs to be called the roller coaster roll and its missing wholeness to the taste. I belive they need to add tempura shrimp inside. And like Rainbow Roll add diverse flavors because the Mango sauce heavy and each consecutive bite gets overwhelming.
Mackerel sushi was cooked loved the sour taste but this cooked texture wasn’t for me my ideal type is the one between raw and cooked its soft enough to chew but not too tough to bite it, it just beeds to melt in your mouth.
Lava cake ending (pretty good ;))
I believe the staff is passionate about sushi I can see really cool play from the chefs with sauces and flavors. But I believe the restaurant needs to elevate their sushi quality because it...
Read moreThis bistro recently opened in my neighborhood. I decided to support the business based on it being new and it already had good reviews. But, those reviews didn’t live up to the hype.
If I were a secret shopper, the score would be less than 10%. Wednesday, March 10 about 8 pm, my friend and I was told to seat ourselves. The waiter didn’t tell us his name, so I asked as he walked away. I felt pressured to order even though I told Alex he’ll be notified when we’re ready and he told us to “wave” at him when we’re ready. We ordered three appetizers including Coconut Shrimp, wings and Truffle Fries, and a Mushroom burger with regular fries.
The coconut shrimp was bland and didn’t have any seasoning or taste. We didn’t want to appear to complain so we kept it. The fries were quite bland. The burger was supposed to have regular fries, but we were given sweet potato fries and was charged $3. The wings were tasteless! I couldn’t deal with the quality of the food anymore.
I asked Alex for another choice of wings. I explained my reasoning. He said okay he’ll accommodate. The order was $8 and included 6 wings. I ate one as I attempted to try to taste seasoning. Alex returned with an unknown employee who didn’t provide his name. He told me he can’t make another order of wings because I already ate one wing 😒. He then suggested he can “re-fry” the wings that didn’t have taste. I told him that is unhealthy and you can’t re-fry food only add dry heat. I told him that will not go in my body as I requested to have that item removed.
I’m very dissatisfied with the quality of food and lack of customer service. I can’t believe they couldn’t make wings with seasoning. They said they only bread them and drop them in the fryer and you get a side of Cajun, bbq or ranch. If you like to taste seasoning in your food, please don’t waste...
Read moreChihiro Sushi & Bar in Euless- Westbound Harwood just west of Highway 360. PSA: do NOT go. The miso soup was good. The interior of the restaurant looked really nice and new. The bathrooms are completely touchless except for the faucet, and extremely clean. The staff was really courteous. The digital jukebox on the wall is kinda cool.
The Karaage (fried chicken) was squishy and PINK in the middle. Warning sign #1. Pic shown is after we quit eating it. The sushi bento box (2x) came out and immediately to MY nose, smelled extremely fishy. I'd never smelled sushi like that before, anywhere. My wife didn't notice any smell at all, so I held my nose and ate it anyway. First piece on the right stunk the worst, but tasted ok. Shrimp was rubbery. Squid- something really funky there, spit it out. Salmon and tuna didn't bite cleanly through as they should (if they were fresh), and they were kinda squishy too. The tuna roll- nope. I should have sent it all back on first smell. I didn't touch the salad, shu-mai, or the fried dumping. The wasabi and soy sauce were ok? But those come pre-packaged in tubes and bottles.
Either the fish is just old or it's not stored and processed properly, which is really worrisome for a sushi place with 4.5/5 stars on Google and Yelp after hundreds of reviews (which is why we tried it out). Even though it's not actually supposed to help since any bacteria transfers once it's in your mouth, I forced myself to vomit out as much as I can once I got home, which for me always means stomach acid burning a line up my esophagus and spitting bright red blood for a while. Yay! I hope we don't get sick, but it's not looking too good based on the 1-star reviews I just read.
This place won't make it onto our lunch list. Don't put it on...
