The interior maintains several holdovers from the Asian restaurant that was here before but do not let that dissuade you from the fact that this is still a diner style restaurant ready to serve up some down home comfort.
The fare on the menu has a wide range but the focus is definitely tuned towards those old familiar dishes you would expect to find at most dives serving up diner favorites.
From omelets to liver and onions, breakfast burritos to burgers - Sunrise Cafe aims to bring you dishes you know in a way you would expect them.
I had a cup of coffee along with the baby beef liver and onions with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. They are not doing anything outside of the box here and that is a good thing! I got exactly what I wanted! It was delicious and prepared by someone who knew what they were doing. The mashed potatoes tasted homemade to boot which was a welcome addition to an already good meal!
The staff were all friendly as they bustled around the place ensuring coffee stayed topped up and drinks never ran empty. They seemed very ontop of things and made sure we were taken care of as we enjoyed our meal.
There is not much more I can say about a place that seems to have found their niche and be doing everything right. I am sure we will return in the future to explore other things from the menu. They also have a specials board that I find myself intrigued to see what the future brings.

Ā Ā Ā Read more7/30 Be very specific when ordering! Menu is stupidly confusing. Ask EXACTLY what comes with your food. My friend got the french toast, and it didn't say it came with any sides, but she got 2. I got the benedict, and she said what sides, so I asked for hash browns and the pancake, both of which were on the side list. I was charged $5 extra for the pancakes because she came back and said that it didn't come with my meal. My friend didn't get her sides until she asked. We were pretty much ignored for about 15 minutes until she finally came over and asked what we wanted to drink. Server seemed rushed to get our orders and didn't want to take the time. Waters weren't refilled, that type of basic service wasn't given. Food is mediocre and serving sizes are really small. Would not have chosen pancakes if I knew it didn't actually come with my meal. I wasn't even asked what kind of pancakes I wanted (for example: chocolate/blueberry/etc) or if I wanted them as a meal or not, etc, which is weird because if i was going to actually order them, I should have been able to choose what pancakes I wanted. Over $5 for 2 small plain pancakes is not worth it. I'd rather make pancakes at home! Was about to be charged a credit card transaction fee as well if I didn't ask about it. Poor server providing poor service. If she's my server again, I will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a great breakfast here! The service was fast all around; the food hot; the drinks refilled; and the check brought and paid in a timely manner. The menu, particularly breakfast, is huge! Everyone could find something to eat if they were picky, had diet restrictions, or just wanted a huge tasty classic breakfast. I had the Denver omelet with hollandaise and avocado added and it was all fresh and delicious. The sausage links were probably frozen, but not terrible. The eggs were well cooked; hash browns nice and crispy; and plenty of sauage gravy for the biscuits. You can tell it obviously was an Asian restaurant before from the design, which hasn't changed much but its not distracting. Overall, a great breakfast place I look forward to...
