We were in Janesville visiting relatives and handling business when my aunt mentioned fish fries. That got me Googling, and The Owl Bar & Grill had the best reviews—they weren't exaggerating!

My fiancé is incredibly picky, and after eating fish multiple times a week, I thought I was done with it. But the moment she ordered the two-piece fried fish dinner, I knew we were in for something special. The portions were generous—what was supposed to be two pieces felt more like six compared to other places. Then came the smell: fresh, crisp, like it had just been pulled from the ocean. One bite off her plate, and I was stunned. My fiancé, who spent most of her life in Washington state and knows what real sea-to-market fish tastes like, declared it the best she'd had since moving back to Wisconsin.

And while the food was exceptional, the service made the experience unforgettable. Our waitress, Kim, was phenomenal. When she learned I was hard of hearing, she went out of her way to stand where I could see her before speaking—an incredible touch, especially in a packed restaurant.

I ordered the ribeye steak sandwich, which was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The pricing was more than reasonable, especially compared to fast food joints that charge just as much for a mediocre burger.

Really nice restaurant located in Evansville WI, with really friendly staff. Even the owners are amazing & very welcoming & personable. They sometimes walk around and make sure you're having a good experience which is really rare for any restaurant. The food is always good. It's fun atmosphere they have a bunch of TVs so people can watch sports or whatever. They also have pool tables, darts and electronic gadgets to play with. They do trivia on Thursday nights. They have bags in warmer months. And probably a bunch of other things that I don't know about. It's a fun atmosphere to get together with friends or family. I recently stopped by for lunch and opted to sit at the bar, although there was plenty of seating available in the main dining area. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by both the host and the owner, making us feel like old friends. I decided to try the Mac Attack, which was cooked to perfection just as I had requested. As a fun twist, Their grown-up version of the fried baloney sandwich, is surprisingly delicious—definitely a nostalgic treat worth trying!
