McDonald's — Restaurant in Evart

Love McDonald's until they give us grief about cutting our sandwich in half or the Frappe Machine is down or needs a deep cleaning...personally I don't think it is ever down or needs a cleaning. I think the night employees are not wanting to put it back together again because it was already cleaned or they just don't feel like making it period.

Trying to keep my same post and add to it. I tried ordering breakfast this morning. I happened to ask if there were any deals on sandwiches or anything. We were informed that all sandwiches and hash browns were buy one get one for $1. So trying to place two orders we ordered 1 burrito, 2 hash browns, 1 sausage, egg, and cheese McMuffin, one of the same sub bacon. Second order was not so hard. Just 4 breakfast burritos. So we get up to the payment window and the lady reads me back the first order and by what she told us, we should have gotten one hash brown for $1 and one of the McMuffins for $1. That was not the case. We got one hash brown for $1 and that was it. Then the lady got angry with me shut her window started cussing and went and got her manager. Her manager came after the girl added another sandwich to our order. The manager then deleted the whole order and started from scratch. Now we're holding up both drive-thru lanes. Finally get the order right, or as right as things can be. We ended up with the buy one get one for $1 hash browns, 1 sausage, egg, and cheese McMuffin, 1 bacon, egg, and cheese sub bacon, 1 breakfast burrito. We didn't get the deal on the sandwiches because both sandwiches were not sausage, egg, and cheese, McMuffins. Now I was polite, maybe a little passive aggressive about the matter. I didn't cuss at anyone, so I didn't feel I deserved to be cussed at, nor the window slammed in my face, or the delay that was caused to the other customers behind us. It was nonsense. They couldn't cut us a deal and still didn't have the heart to be truthful about the exclusion of one sandwich to the deal because at first all that was mentioned was buy one get one for $1 McMuffin Sandwich. It wasn't specified that it was only Sausage, egg, and cheese McMuffin. When they did have the heart to explain this I was wrong and it's my fault I was wrong. Went through the drive-thru and ordered a large diet Coke and two-three packs of chocolate chip cookies. I had to pull up and wait because they had no cookies on hand. When they brought them out I only had three cookies in the bag. So I pulled back around to the register window and told the girl that I wanted my money back because I only got the three cookies not the six. She had a manager come up and explained the same thing to them that I didn't want to wait any longer for more. I just wanted my money back for the ones that I did not get. I had to tell them that three times before they understood. And then a balding manager with glasses in the office behind the register started telling me that I was rude to his workers and started mouthing off to me. I told him if he was a manager that he was being very disrespectful to me as a customer. He kept being sarcastic running his mouth until I finally got my money back. I always thought the customer is right but obviously he enjoyed being a jerk. Seriously, he needs to be retrained in the art of managing a restaurant and being polite to people. I will never go back to the Evart McDonald's, I will stick with Big Rapids. None of them are really all that good anyways. You would have better luck going to Pompeii's...

Over the last many years, my wife and I (and originally our sons as well) routinely stop by this McDonald's as a halfway point between East Lansing and vacation destinations on the Lake Michigan coast (i.e., Ludington, Pentwater). This used to be a "family ritual" when our boys attended band camp at Mystic Lake. And for EVERY one of these visits, the food is top-notch for McDonald's. Just this past week, we stopped there both to and from Ludington, and each time the fries were hot and crisp, the shakes excellent, and my Quarter-Pounder perfect. Their staff is super friendly too. I actually swore I would NEVER eat at McDonald's again after two terrible experiences at the Coloma one in southern MI (cold bad food); but yeah, the Evart one is GREAT. So if you're into scoring some mickey D's, and you're transiting on the 10, STOP HERE....
