This was our second time coming here. The first time, the service was similar. Sat at a table, then twenty minutes to come back and take a drink order.
We came here last night right around 7:30pm ish. The place was not packed/crowded. Busyish but not so busy that you should be sat, as a small group of 3, and it take more than 15 minutes for someone to come back and take a drink order. I watched as a couple that were sat after us receive drinks nearly immediately followed by appetizers within a couple of minutes. Our orders were taken at the same time of the drink orders and came out at a normal speed. But one of the dishes was a veal parm. My father couldn't eat more than three bites of it, it was thicker than any piece of veal we've ever had. Which if you know veal, you know that this makes it impossible to tenderize, and cook without turning to rubber. At the end of our meal, we took it home, because we didn't want to be rude to our server. But the way veal is done here really needs to be looked at. There is no way, that no one else has said anything.
This is a nice little place to take your...
Read moreWe have stopped and eaten at this restaurant about 3 or 4 prior times over the last couple of years. Mostly, we had cocktails and apps. The Baba Ghnoush and wings were excellent at past visits so we decided to have dinner there last evening. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the entres we ordered.
I ordered the pasta Primavera and my wife had the Friday dinner special, fried clams dinner. Neither one of these dishes were very good. The assorted seafood in the pasta Primavera looked and tasted like it came out of a freezer bag and the pasta was overcooked. The fried clams were rubbery and slightly overcooked as well. After a few bites, neither one of us could finish. Most disappointing was the fact that we had assumed that since the apps were so good on past visits, we expected to be blown away by the dinner menu - BIG mistake. We expected fresh seafood in a Rhode Island restaurant and didn't get that. My advice is to go for the drinks and apps only until they get their menu...
Read moreI will admit I was trying to find some places to do while waiting for a club event. Was trying to think of places I’ve been by while going to URI (University of Rhode Island) and this place popped up in my brain and it seems to be open for long periods of time probably due to having a bar. A rare feat in this area of Rhode Island. Anyway pulled in on a pretty empty day. I like how it looks like an old timer barn. Waited a bit, got a booth to myself and read the menu. There a lot of options and it has seafood which is neat. I didn’t feel like anything too fancy so I just got a Turkey sandwich. Food came out in less than 10 minutes which is rare. It was pretty good. Tasted like I was back home. Finished that, and got an Oreo ice cream cake or pie slice. Anyways that part was awesome. Only took me like 30-40 mins to eat a full meal and dessert. Nice place and oldschool farming environment vibes. Wasn’t too expensive either. Might be good place to stop by again when I’m...
