Dos Fuentes Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Fairbury

We were on our way back from Kankakee on a three hour drive from picking up a bus. Since we are still experiencing Covid regulations, I was hoping to find a place we didn't have to eat in the truck. I happened to catch the nice patio area out front as we went by and caught the sign that it was clearly a mexican food restaurant. So we turned around in the dollar general parking lot and pulled in. It was clearly a well cared for building and a nice, neat and clean patio out front. We went in and placed our order and the staff was friendly and the place looked super clean. They gave us our drinks and we headed to the patio and within 15 minutes we had our food. It was AMAZING! A nice bag of chips and some salsa with our meal. I had cheese steak which I have ordered from several places and this by far was the best! The tortilla was very good, the steak melted in your mouth and the balance of flavors was fantastic! Their frijoles were spot on too!!! I'm going to have to make the 2 hour drive once restaurants open to try the inside but man did I enjoy sitting on...

I once rated this 5 stars across the board. However i have to say that the service seemed odd to say the least. I waiter stayed next to my wife for more that ten minute's and spoke only to her. Later he asked if i was paying or my wife then proceeded to hand her the check. One other time previous he laugh for many minutes while looking at us. He even asked why its been so long since we were there and where we lived. Now my wife is Mexican and obviously can talk to the much younger man but she felt uneasy and stopped talking a few times. He would continue to stand there, not taking the hint.

The food is great. Next time i will order it to go. Its sad that just one waiter can leave such a negative impression. We wont be...

This was the Worst Experience ever, our waiter came to wait on us, I placed my order ask for sure if it had cheese sauce on it he said yes. When my order came no cheese sauce, ask my waiter why it did not have cheese sauce, his repley was it melted. I said look at my dish no cheese sauce, I ask him to take it back for some cheese, instead he brought me a dish of cheese. When I got my bill he charged me 3.49 for the cheese. I asked to see the manager, he said I am the manager. I said this was not right, he did nothing. I would never go back to this place EVER. I never complain but my bill was 27.00 for 1 person. 14.99 for meal then charged me 3.49 more for the cheese. Unacceptable...
