This place is a stripped down bar that is not a dive bar but has the feel of one. It is well lit and the standing area is open enough that you can move around. The have a stage for live music. The walls are covered with random decor. The mens bathroom is clean but no toilet so ya. The bar is centrally located so 360 degrees of seating. The crowd is a mix of Fairfield college kids and older locals. There is a small parking lot on the side so get here early or it's street parking. They also have a pool table and 2 dart boards. Was a fun place and the crowd was lively. There is a smoking area out front with chairs if that's your thing.

One particular staff member, who I didn’t get the pleasure of hearing the name of, was so incredibly rude and berated my friend for touching an ornament on a christmas tree. There were no signs up saying you could not touch them. He cussed at her and degraded her to the point she was crying and made us stand outside in below freezing outside. Drinks also tasted bad as a side note. Why get a vodka cran when the cran is not tasted in the drink.

It may have been a Sunday night but my wife and I had a wonderful time at this bar, we meant to grab a couple meals to go but never left. We met the owner Peter and had some wonderful conversations, as well as the bar tender Tim and a few locals we all had an evening nobody will soon forget. Thanks you all for everything. We will be back.

We went to this bar/restaurant with our daughter last Saturday as it was Family Weekend at Fairfield University. The service was terrible. They are at least 8 TVs in the bar and we wanted to watch the Red Sox playoff game while we got some dinner but the game was only on one TV in a section of the bar that was already full. We couldn't see it. The TVs in our section had NFL Network showing a replay of a game from a week ago and MLB Network, which if you can't hear it what's the point? We asked politely 3 times if they could change one of the TVs and all 3 times our request was rudely dismissed. This in spite of the fact that not only did we order drinks but we also ordered food. No one was watching what they had on. What a terrible way to treat paying customers, we won't ever be back. I recommend only going to this bar if you want to be treated rudely.

In response to your question: we asked more than one bartender. I don't know their names, sorry. When the bartender who took our order wouldn't help us, my daughter tried a couple of the other bartenders. Responses varied from "if I get a minute" to just a...

I went to the sea grape for the first time this past weekend and had a really unfortunate experience. First of all, they charge a cover - which with all the choices of other bars in Fairfield and Westport really doesn't makes sense to me. A huge turn off - especially when you have Fairfield ave right around the corner. Anyways, I went in and bought a round of drinks for my friends and I and charged it to my credit card. I decided to leave a minimal tip because of the overpriced drinks, the slowness and rudeness of the bartenders, but having worked in the food industry myself I decided to just leave a little something. So in the next few days I look at my credit card statement and I realized that the bartender has taken it upon himself to charge a few extra dollars to my bill - which isn't all THAT big of a deal...unless you decide to buy many drinks or maybe you're strapped on cash and hadn't planned to dole out huge tips on an overrated bar. Honestly, I would say if you're looking for a good place to go out in Fairfield and don't want to be charged a cover and have a couple bucks stolen...

Don’t come here the owner is an absolute creep. Came here with a group of friends, as soon as we walked in some old guy touched mine and my friend’s arm as we walked past, asking us what college we go to. I walked past and told him ā€œdon’t touch meā€ as I do with any random man that gets in my personal space. Turns out that guy was the owner and had his bartenders ignore us for 15 minutes before one of them came over and told us we weren’t being served because one of us was rude to the owner. The old guy from earlier comes over, points me out as the rude one, and wants an apology. I said I would not be apologizing and that he shouldn’t be touching random young women and he argues with me on that. Then takes away our drinks and tells us to leave. Don’t waste your money here. EDIT: If it’s rude to set boundaries with strangers who try touching me, then sure I’m rude :) and either way, the way the owner handled the situation...
