This place is good for food. But don't go for trivia on Thursdays. We've went every week since around April and we occasionally notice cheating. Trivia host never noticed...but this past Thursday was so unbelievable, we're never going back. A table of girls with the average age of 14 continually cheated the entire game. Every question 1 or 2 of them would go to the bar and asked people for answers. We told the host about it and apparently he warned them. But after that they kept doing it about 8 or 9 times. Trivia host did nothing about it. He even asked us "what am I supposed to do?". They were his rules and he doesn't know what to do? He even saw the cheating. The answer is easy....disqualify them. He didn't. They kept on playing and cheating and got rewarded for it. But the most unbelievable thing was...the trivia host got mad at US....not the cheaters. In fact he told us if we didnt like it (the cheating)....we didnt have to be there. Then the host actually said these words to us "you guys are acting like children". Children....good customers who speak up about cheating. The girls even tied a team and when he asked the tie breaking question....they still went to the bar and asked for the answer. They came in 3rd....a team of 14 year old girls who actually "knew" who won the last battle of the revolutionary War and how many golf clubs a golfer keeps in his bag.... And what flavor triple sec is. Really? And the trivia host actually thought they knew these. He must have....he did nothing about the cheating. It wasn't just the cheating...when the host plays the audio questions...you can't hear them. The people are talking so loud it sounds like you're in a stadium. He could easily tell people to lower their voices out of respect for others. But he doesn't. He also does nothing about people using their phones. After one of the girls came from the bar with an answer and we complained ...the host said to us "they got the wrong answer anyway". I said to him "cheating is not based on whether the answer is right...its the attempt to advance your team through dishonesty". So according to him..if you get the answer wrong, its not cheating. If you want a fair game...don't go. If you're there for "fun" and don't care that people cheat and end up with a higher score than yours when your team didn't cheat....then you'll have no complaints and you'll make the trivia host happy so he won't have to be confronted by people telling him to do his job. And we were regulars who spent a lot of money and tipped very well. The servers will most likely miss the good tips. If they do...thank the trivia host.

Read moreI have eaten at Ventura’s several times before and have always been satisfied with my food and service. I know we are dining out in different times now with Covid and things are changed for safety and service. However my experience last night was one I could not make sense of, I was eating out with my family of 6 we were seated in the bar area at a table everyone at my table ordered meals with fries/subs I ordered a bambino pizza and fries my pizza came out already in a box to go, which I thought that’s odd but ok I normally have some to take home anyways, everyone at my table was served their meals on plates. Everyone had their fries on their plates the waitress forgot my fries no big deal I advised I was missing my order of fries she quickly brought out my order of fries in a BAG? A to-go bag it was all greasy looking on the outside of the bag because the fries were just sitting in the bag ? No container no nothing just laying in a brown paper bag??? I was very confused I never asked them to be in a to- go bag I was planning on eating them there??? So my table was so full of boxes and bags I didn’t have enough room for a plate to eat on??? Needless to say the way my dinner was presented to me on a dine in experience was very poor I don’t normally complain and I have had many good meals there but it just bothered me so much with the price of eating out these days and the service I received. I got water to drink it was served to me in a to-go cup with no lid, so with the people dining outside we were seated right by that door everytime the waiter went in or out the door was left open my cup and table was...

I love all the local pizza places, and I would never trade any of them. Ventura's, however, really stands out, as they've been around a long time (as long as I can remember, back to my childhood), though I heard the business changed hands at some point.
I don't typically write reviews, but I am writing this, because my experience tonight (as a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur), was truly significant. Their sauce has always been delicious, as well as all of the other ingredients, but when I say that my pizzas were truly cooked to near perfection, tonight, I mean it. The crust and cheese were perfectly bubbly and golden. Nice (but not over-powering) char and pockets in crust, just the right amount of well-done.
I did order one of the pizzas well-done, due to the style of toppings, but they were both fantastic. This experience feels like Ventura's is re-staking its claim in Fairfield, and I'm here for it. Nice job! I truly hope you guys keep up the good work and are consistent with these sort of things, which are rare to find. I might order the same things, the same way, next...
