First time checking out a Wawa! We went 3 days after the grand opening. The store was nice and clean as to be expected for a new building. Oliver, the checkout attendant, was very friendly. There were tons of employees working the kitchen. It took about 20-25 minutes to get out food. Not ideal for a quick lunch break but you can order your food ahead on the app to make it faster. They do have some grab and go appetizer options such a chicken bites, mozzarella sticks, and stuffed pretzels. The stuffed pretzel with sweet cream cheese was tasty but small. They have Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, Icee machines, lots of hot and iced coffee options. You can order blended coffees, smoothies, and milkshakes from the kiosk. There is a beer cooler as well as a lottery machine. Gas options include 89 ethanol free, 87 unleaded, 89 plus, 91 premium, 93 super, and diesel. We ordered a cheesesteak, a chicken wrap, fries, and mac n cheese. It is currently Hoagiefest so the sandwich and wrap were $6. The wrap is normally $6.09 and the cheesesteak is normally over $8. I would not pay $8 for it. Not a lot of cheese. There was hardly any sauce and they forgot the pickles I ordered on it. The wrap was fine. The mac and cheese was expensive. We got a medium and it was $5 and still pretty small. The food is a bit pricey and underwhelming considering all the good things we have heard about it. We will try again while hoagiefest is still going on. Wawa is open 24/7 and serves food until 3am so this would be a good late night food option.
EDIT: Second visit was much better than the first!! We ordered our hoagies on the app this time. They were much larger too! So much meat and properly sauced! Nice and hot. They were made accurately too!! They were even doing free samples of the cheese pizza too. I'm changing my...
Read moreStopped by here today for my first wawa experience. Needed gas and they had a low price but UDF just up the street was 6 cents less with my UdF loyalty card, so I went there first gassed up, and returned to wawa to check out the food. Nice clean store; people were very nice. Asked someone behind the counter what food I should try on my first visit and they suggested the hoagies because they are on a $6 special price. Placed the order at the terminal, But after adding a cold Frappuccino drink along with a medium side of macaroni and cheese, my bill skyrocketed to $18, which is way more than what I want to spend. Ouch. Shame on me for not tracking the price as I was adding items but I did not see anywhere on the screen how my rolling total was adding up.
I'll take a look the next time I go back but I don't think the display system is very transparent when it comes to the cost of adding each item to your selection. Perhaps I just need to pay closer attention. Food was okay perhaps a little bit heavy on the salt. $6 hoagies are a good deal if you can just limit what you order, but I really felt like I overspent for the quality of food that I received. I'll give them another try, probably when the Fairfield store on route 4 & Symmes opens.... if not sooner.
P.S. - Not quite sure why John S, review below, would drive 100...
Read moreSo I'm currently leaving WaWa on tylersville rd. Usually i have no issues here, however@ 215 there was no ice, not one ice cube, in the soda machine. I went to the front counter to make the employ aware. The cashier who has customer service experience clearly to me to go to the in store drink counter for a cup of ice. As I'm waiting to address the workers, a manager I'm assuming, with a red shirt and headphone came behind me telling the workers, i was waiting to address saying they can't do that. Out the blue one of the employees i was waiting to address approached me and said "we don't put ice in the cups " , the manager who I'm assuming is mute and must meet a tax quota, made eye contact with me and continued to walk off saying absolutely NOTHING verbally had the original employee with the customer service come tell me the store had no ice at all and she was wrong for telling me to get ice from the in-store counter. Some one def need to retrain that female in communication, customer service, and professionalism. Or give the cashier...
