Had to decrease my rating and update my review after visiting both locations. This location: Issues with staff getting orders wrong. Baked goods were average. New to the area and this place was recommended to me by multiple people as a great place to eat. I went to the Cloverleaf location around lunch time 2 weeks ago and ordered the pecan sticky bun to go. Got to my car and realized my sticky bun had no pecans. Check my receipt and saw she charged me for a plane sticky bun so I chalked it up to an honest mistake as they were VERY busy. The sticky bun was good though. Went to the Fairview location today. The girl told me that the cookie sandwich was molasses and buttercream. After spending $3 on it, I got to my car and realized it's peanut butter. I went back in and told the girl that my cookie was peanut butter and while she apologized, she made no offer to refund me money. She stated that they switch back and forth between the molasses and PB. I intentionally bought the cookie to try something I've never had (I don't like peanut butter cookies and never would have bought it had I known what it really was. Wasted $3 on something I took one bite of and trashed). Thankfully I do not have a nut allergy but lots of people do. Again, I understand honest mistakes happen but messing up something that is an allergy risk by calling it a unique favor is a problem. I came in late morning so between the breakfast and lunch rush and hours after they opened, so she could have potentially sold these cookies to multiple other people. I understand that once I bit into the cookie she couldn't resell it but I walked in and stood at the case debating for a good while & asked specifically about the cookie and cream favors twice. The monkey bread muffin was dry, but the peach raspberry muffin was very good. I hope the sit-down meals are better in both taste and service than the bakery counters, but I will not be back. Cloverleaf: It was extremely busy...
Read moreI want to preface this by saying that I never leave bad reviews like this, and I don’t want to be a, “Karen,” but I feel that something needs to be said. I’ve never had a bad experience here until today. We had a blue haired waitress and she was extremely rude. From the second we sat down, she came up and just demanded, “Drinks?!,” in a nasty voice, as if we were inconveniencing her. Then she came to the table and didn’t even hand everyone their drinks, she just put them down and angrily threw straws out of her pocket all over the table. We then didn’t see her for another 10 minutes, until she came back and asked in an angry voice how we were splitting the bills. Then my friend asked if they could substitute something on the menu, she snarked back instantly and just said, “No, I can’t do that,” rather than offering to try to help or offering a different option. After that, we got our food, and it was all cold, as if it was left out longer on purpose. She never checked on us, and never offered us refills, (all of us needed refills.) It was a horrible experience, she was very rude for no reason. All of my friends can attest to this. We were all baffled...
Read moreThe front end of the bakery for cakes and pastries, etc is excellent and worth five stars, but the dine in restaurant gets 3 stars, thus the overall 4 star rating. Got the avocado toast and have had it many times at many different places and it was horrible. I sent it back and just didn't eat breakfast. They did offer to make me a new one and I said no, because it was that bad, but in fairness to them they offered to make me anything else for free and I did not take that offer, because I felt it wasn't fair to have them make me a whole new meal at a loss. SO I just shared the pancakes and hash browns with my wife, which were great. did not appreciate that despite me refusing to eat the horrible avocado toast and not having them remake it, it was still on the receipt at full price. I know I didn't take them up on their offers to make it right, but would have thought adjustments would be made for that. My dad loves eating there though and the place was full, so would estimate that the items on their menu that are diner or homestyle are great, just obviously shouldn't try making things they don't understand like...
