My family has been in the area for 4 years now and wanted to try many different pizza places to find that go to pizza joint in Levittown. We tried Parkway Pizza and to be fair with all the other pizza places we are only ordering a plain cheese pizza to compare. We always pick up our pizza which usually guarantees a hot and fresh pizza. My 7 year old son really liked the pizza. I did like it as well however there were a few critiques of the pizza that I will share.
First off everyone felt there was too much cheese on the pizza. This happens so not a big deal just seemed a little heavy handed this time. The crust we also felt lacked flavor. I am not saying it tasted bad just needed something more from the crust. I felt the sauce was a tad sweet but I usually prefer an acidic sauce so it is possible they were balancing out the acidity with sugar but was just a little sweet.
The pizza was cooked perfectly however with a great bite to the crust and the cheese was melted to perfection. Definitely will order from again but it may not be our weekly go to, only...
Read moreParkway Pizza has super great food! For years I've known that their pizza is world class (yes, really). But lately I've tried some of their other menu offerings and been equally impressed. Last week I ordered a pizza steak, and it was among the best I've had. Then two nights ago I ordered a steak stromboli, which was also great. Stromboli is difficult to get right - at many places, if the outside of the crust is just right, then the dough on the inside will be only partially cooked. Or if the dough on the inside is fully cooked and perfect, then the outside will be burnt or too hard for a knife to cut cleanly. But Parkway's stromboli was perfectly cooked on the outside and on the inside - they nailed it! Tip:. if ordering a steak stromboli, have them add pepperoni as an additional "topping" (actually a "filling"). The pepperoni adds a great flavor complement to the steak and mozzarella. And be sure to get a thingy of heated marinara sauce on the side...
Read moreNot trying to be harsh to a local iconic pizza shop like this. I remember coming there as a kid and ordering by the slice and playing video games in their waiting area. I can't say that I've been spoiled by NYC or NJ pizza moving out of town for so many years, because other pizza places are just as good in comparison. Its amazing they still deliver themselves, so thats worth something. Their 1 specialty pizza seemed like the meat was recooked. Their plain cheese pizza I was let down by. It tasted like a plank of wood. It seemed like an old thin crust elios with not enough fresh cheese that moves around on the slice. I ordered this as a kid, I ordered again hoping it was great, but I was really let down by it....
