Moonakis Cafe — Restaurant in Falmouth

From the moment I walked in, I knew this breakfast experience would be special. The warm, welcoming atmosphere set the tone perfectly for the morning, and the service was attentive without ever feeling rushed.

I ordered the chicken apple sausage breakfast, and it exceeded all expectations. The sausage was outstanding—juicy and flavorful with the perfect balance of savory herbs and a subtle apple sweetness. Each bite had that wonderful snap from the casing, followed by tender, perfectly seasoned chicken inside. It paired beautifully with the fresh eggs cooked exactly to my liking and the crisp golden potatoes on the side.

What impressed me most was the quality of ingredients and the care in presentation. The sausage tasted wholesome and light, yet incredibly satisfying, leaving me energized rather than weighed down. The plate was as beautiful as it was delicious, showing the chef’s attention to detail.

To top it off, the staff made the experience feel personal and thoughtful, checking in just the right amount and making sure coffee cups were always full.

IMO, great food can only make up so much for apathetic servers and food that takes too long to come out. It was also BIG issue for me that the each person at our table got their food in intervals of 5 minutes between deliveries; with my hungry child's pancakes the very last to arrive at the table. This was also a trend for an awkward date we observed next to us, as one person got their breakfast waaaayy before the other person did.

Review update: We were there Tuesday the 7th, the restaurant wasn't busy & there was no wait. Dear Owner, I understand the need to momma/papa bear a defensive response; unfortunately I see that I have a higher chance to get a respectful response only if I rate your place w a higher star... Our experience was not just limited to OUR table, but looking around we saw that it was a trend that day. I was a server in another life, too, and had it only been our table with a food delivery issue, I would have chalked it up to ours having a bad day. Having read recent reviews, it's obvious that Moonakis has a problem that you prefer to explain away instead of address. The staff is amazing. We were a large party with an electric wheelchair--not easily maneuvered. They sat us promptly, even asked other patrons to please get up so the chair could get by. I'm especially thankful for that because it meant that my friends didn't have to inconvenience the other patrons, our hostess did that for us. They really made us feel comfortable. Our food was served very quickly and was prepared very well. No one ordered the same thing and everything was great. The coffee kept coming too. There were in addition to the menu items, at least 5 or more specials on the wall to choose from. They are a cash only restaurant, but there's an ATM across the street if you need it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

UPDATE JUNE 2023 Most noticeable change was they accept credit cards now. Visited with my daughter on a Thursday morning. The place was full, but has a couple open tables. The food was amazing. Their pancakes are the best. LOTS of blueberries in mine and chocolate chips in hers. Service was great. Bathrooms were clean. Restaurant was clean. Our bill came to $55 (with tip). I would definitely recommend this restaurant...
