Worst quality and business practices I've ever seen. When we arrived there were 6 orders total made and waiting to be made plus a couple call ins. We left there totally disgusted 1 hour 14 minutes later and the worst was yet to come when we opened the packages with our food! Took over 35 minutes just to make our order with those few customers They blamed the Till several times but it was lack of any organization Saw first hand minimum of 4 FDA violations, God knows how many exist Watched people's food sit 10-15 minutes on counter waiting for other food in the order which ad not even been started yet Guy asked what kind of chicken we wanted, we said dark, he had no clue had to hear which pieces as he didn't even know which were white or dark meat? Got 7 white and 1 dark in the end anyway he still had no clue. They least they gave us tarter sauce with the chicken? Some french fries obviously went out not even fully heated! French fries should not be reheated yet we watched a basket get dipped three times? I'm sure they wouldn't understand four is not okay either? Tubs for breading labeled fish and other chicken, yet he dipped fish fillets into the breading labeled chicken. Two guys each take their own orders and make their own food instead of working as a team. This is why a group of 3 people had 2 orders sit for 15 minutes while they got around to making the 3rd order while in between a same order went to another person? They each cook their own not a team? They took a bottle of very low quality sauce and drenched all the chicken, fries, bread, coleslaw container, tarter sauce packets, everything? Cole slaw was an embarrassment for them. Chicken was so soggy with the sauce on already soggy breading you would have almost needed a spoon to eat it. Luckily we couldn't and threw it after trying a few bites for curiosity only. For $10 the chicken and fries dinner had 7 gizzards and some soggy not fully cooked fries, yum, first time in my life I did not eat all my gizzards either not good quality or even close. Go to Sioux City, IA if you want that. Watched a kid who ordered a sandwich on line be told "well on line don't work!" Well then take it down until it does? Took well over half hour for him to order directly and get one even after they learned they blew it.
One hour and 14 minutes for inedible food which was not even what we ordered and only a few other customers there...more than this but point made. They have no idea how to run a business or cook, it is not just because it is a new place. STRONG ADVICE: Walk in and watch them for about 10 minutes and act like you're looking at the menu and see for yourself before deciding if you really want to make an order. Please do this and see if you feel it is worth the risk. Give them half year and then try them, don't be part of their...
Read moreI was really hoping for some decent soul food fish and chips. I wish this venue success, but as is; it was bad. The atmosphere was drab, the tables were dirty and the floor right in front of the register was so sticky with something that I had to go outside and use a snow drift to clear them so I stopped sticking to the floor.
The selection was decent but offered no options for just fish, as all fish must be bought as a meal or a sandwich.
I chose the cheaper of the two and had the Walleye Sandwich.
I appreciate the enthusiasm of the chef when he presented me with my order. Yet as a the cook he should never have insisted I take a bite of the sandwich right away so he could see my expression.
My expression was pain. The fish was right out of the fryer a d while the breading had cooked the fish itself burned the roof of my mouth off and seared a good many taste buds, so I couldn't really say if it was delicious . I can say that even after it had cooled my general feeling was extremely disappointed.
I cannot begin to understand the price points for this restaurant. I expect it to cost most than a large chain, but almost 13.00$ for a Single piece of fish on a white hamburger bun?
The walleye sandwich was served on an Burger bun that was only a step above the cheapest you have ever had. I know buns, and for the 3.00 more for a nice brioche bun or something special, I might not have noticed how much poorer I was while eating it.
While I was offered Tartar sauce, which I declined there were no other condiments made available.. Some malt vinegar or lemon would have done much for the dry flaming hot fish sandwich.
This brings me to the state of the kitchen. Which was (according to the images and standards posted by the state.) both a health and...
Read moreI wanted to try Chicago chicken and fish shack for a while. I made my way to North Fargo. I was on the phone so I got to watch a few people go in and out. Appeared to have a brisk following. I looked at the menu mostly chicken, but I came for fish, each order was one by one from start to finish. Wait your turn to order until the last person is complete. I ordered something called the mix. It’s seemed expensive at 1699 but I wanted to try it. I noticed as I waited to order that the mix on the full-size jumbo wall poster had been changed to 2699. They used a nice sharpie to scribble the old price. Ouch. Well I had made this long trip to North Fargo remember and Fargo nothings a long way away And even at 2699 I still tried it, throw in a little tip for the man and it’s 30 bucks. The gentleman presents me with a tin pan with foil. So let’s review the hush puppies were great the french fries nothing to write a story about the chicken wings well definitely rice coating and I feel like a spicy seasoning you’ll like this if you’re looking for some juicy chicken wings move on. Two very nice pieces of walleye. Fish was light and flakey if it would have been removed from the fryer earlier. 1 piece of catfish. Meat was nice looking but taste was gone. Maybe that’s how Chicago likes it. Another customer came in and I heard him tell his wife I have a coupon for $20 worth of food for $10. I sure wish I would’ve had that. If you’re looking for a unique experience this is a place every restaurant...
