The Village Inn — Restaurant in Farmersville

My wife and I went here this afternoon because my wife has been wanting to go there for years now so I finally took her. When we walked in there was 2 ladies at the bar and the bartender brought us the menus and took our drink order, we both ordered sweet tea, we both received regular unsweetened tea. A family of 4 walked in and the bartender sat them took there order and gave them their drinks while my wife and I that had been there waiting for our order to be taken for 10 minutes prior to the family walking in. We waited for about 10 minutes longer after to put our order in then finally got up paid for our drinks and went to Laffs in germantown. We were at the Village Inn for 25-30 minutes and our order was never taken. Very poor service especially since there was only 2 other people in there when we showed up. The food is ok sometimes. Very inconsistent. Most reviews on here are definitely overrated. If you want decent bar food with reasonable service skip the Village Inn and go to Laffs the...

Second time trying this place.. First time ordered no onions on my quesadilla, it came out with tons of onions, but I'm reasonable and understand after 25 years in the service industry that mistakes happen and decided to give this establishment another try. This time ordering the chicken strip meal with a side salad...easy enough. Drinks came out in a timely manner but after an hour 8:27 arrival and now 9:28 and no food or salad had been delivered...I went to the bar and asked if she knew how much longer our food would be. Just a few minutes later our food and my side salad was brought out. My salad was good the chicken strips were more like chicken jerky, dry and chewy. I'm not that picky of a person, so for me to say they were bad....they were bad. I've heard the food here is good, but not on the occasions...

I felt after reading the owners response to my original review, I needed to respond to his response. Instead of being concerned about the conditions described, he chose to publicly humiliate me. His response sounds very cordial, however his actions and response to me in person, on my next visit was anything but cordial. While my brother and I sat at the bar, which was full. The owner proceeded very loudly so everyone could hear, to denigrate and admonish me for my review. This went on for about 15 minutes. He was definitely playing to the crowd. After which time he advised me that I was never to enter his establishment again. What a great businessman. Hahaha!!!!! I have attached his response.
