Venecia Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Farmersville

To start, we ordered food to go. They young lady on the phone couldn’t be bothered to with saying you’re welcome before hanging up let alone when I picked up my food. We ordered Chicken Arrabiata with Penne, Chicken Parmigiana with Angel Hair, and Calamari. The calamari was like chewing rubber and lacked any flavor. The Chicken Parmigiana, the breading was mush. Now for the Arrabiata, I’ve had this sauce at countless restaurants and never have I had one so terrible. Firstly, it wreaked of vinegar from the “red hot chilies” that were green and clearly came from a jar. Secondly, you can use white wine in a red sauce like Arriabiata…the issue here..there was no red sauce…not even a hint of tomato anywhere in sight. Just a puddle with Penne and two chicken breasts and a bunch of mushrooms. I guess it’s safe to assume the raving reviews they have are from folks who don’t know any better..or it was just an all around bad day for them. I live in Farmersville and have been here a couple times, and after a couple recent visits I will no longer be going there. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good. It’s the people/person behind the counter. On one visit the guy came over to check on us right when a fly landed and died in my half-eaten salad that I paid for. When we both noticed he kind of chuckled, then proceeded to take my salad away. I was expecting a new one, he never returned not once. Another visit, I order the spaghetti special, and when I get my order it is indeed spaghetti but missing some items that the special contains, most importantly the meatballs. I had to call him over, and he blamed the waitress for mixing up the order. But here’s the part that makes me never want to go back there. He comes back WITH A SINGULAR FREAKING MEATBALL ON A SMALL PLATE to give me, almost like it’s a prank. Unbelievable. The service and not caring is so bad...

I will start by saying, I may have expected too much based on the reviews of this place. When we went to order, we were asked if we wanted appetizers and we said no and then we were asked if we wanted dipping sauce with our bread. Our first time being there, we thought "oh that's nice that they give dipping sauces with the bread". Turns out we bought 2 bowls of sauce for $8. So we didn't appreciate that. The food was mediocre at best. I got the veal parm, it was clearly just something frozen they shipped in, wife had chicken alfredo and she enjoyed the sauce but she said the chicken tasted frozen too.
