Second time coming here, second time food came out wrong. Both times we both ordered home fries, got hash browns on one plate and corned beef hash on the other plate. First time we went we tried to order biscuits and gravy, but they were apparently sold out so we thought they must have been great. The second time we went that’s exactly what we ordered. To our disappointment, they are beyond gross and not edible. Took literally one bite and it tasted like sour filmy gravy with old crusty biscuits. No flavor. At check out time server asked if we didn’t like the gravy and said “it must be your tastebuds” uhm what? On top of gross food and getting the wrong food both times, service was slow. Nonetheless the server was still tipped but we will not be returning. Was super excited to support a local restaurant but food is very subpar - don’t waste your time. Also - only cash which is super inconvenient in today’s society.

Love old places like this, the best breakfast I've had in a restaurant in many years! My eggs were cooked perfect, my French Toast was awesome and my pecan waffle was out of this world!!! If you are driving by and never tried this place, you don't know what you're missing. You will be greeted by super employees and served food so good you will want to slap your momma!!! Lol Okay, don't slap your momma, that's just a saying. I'll make you this promise, you'll thank me for letting you know about it!❤️

The food was OK... very plain. We could barely choke down the home fries because they were, quite literally, just diced plain baked potato. If you're looking for a tasty, greasy, cant-make-at-home diner-type of breakfast, look elsewhere. The waitress we had was friendly and attentive. The interior looks rundown but was very clean. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First, I love little diners and home cooked food. But there is a difference between being ghetto and nostalgic. If you want ghetto this is your place! You can listen to the server Samantha air out all her dirty laundry behind the counter to her other coworkers. Listen to her swear up a storm while you wait for you food.

You want broken down beat up booths. This is your place again! Look no further! 1970s and no repair. Oh don’t forget the 25 cent baskets your food comes in and the wax paper to keep your food from touching the basket… ya good luck. Better hope they actually wash the baskets.

The food…. Uncooked fries that you’ll pay $2.50 extra for. And when they ask how it is… don’t bother answering. They don’t care. You’re paying for it as it is cause “that’s how we serve it”. Expect the server to be antagonistic and continue stand at your table saying rude things and making a situation even more heated. As well as continue to talk about you so the entire restaurant can hear. And when you say something about how unprofessional and rude they’ve been… expect their resolve is to kick you out.

By far the WORST service ever. And from what I’ve been told by some regular customers that’s what you should expect.

Update I did speak with someone via their Facebook that said this server would be spoken to about their behavior. From previous reviews it seems as though this server is perpetually unprofessional.

As for the food, we all know it depends who’s in the kitchen. I’ve not experienced a good meal there, but others have said the food is delicious. So if you don’t mind unprofessional service and just want a decent home cooked meal it might be the...

We usually go out for breakfast here or another diner near by. On a recent visit, I selected a special right off the board. $5 and change for some eggs, meat, and pancakes. The food was okay. The eggs were dry and over scrambled. The pancakes and bacon were what you would expect. The coffee is never anything to write about. But, let us be honest: you accept that when the price is $5-7 and change. When I got the check, my $5 meal cost $7. The waitress explained that the specials were priced for the week day and just hadn't been updated. I could understand on a Saturday morning...but not a Sunday morning. When I pressed for the $5 price, the manager did nothing to correct the situation. She ignored me and left the poor waitress speechless. It ruined the whole experience for me. If I knew that I was paying $7. I would have ordered biscuits and gravy or an omelette. I won't be eating at the Hi-Hat Pancake House again. Dave's Diner here we come! (Don't bother with the lame reply. You had the opportunity. You dropped the ball.)

UPDATE Your reply speaks to the issue. You blame food prices and the customer me as being unreasonable. Good customer service is either good or it is not. Your response speaks to an ongoing downward trend in the industry. You still really don't get the point. My dining selection and experience was informed by a price. If I knew that I wasn't getting a deal, I would have chosen something else. That $2 might mean nothing to you, but I work hard for my money. The fact that I am not a serial reviewer may also speak to how disappointed with the service I am. The response just...

Great place to eat but they also don't care about their customers! me and a friend fell really hard in front since the Ice wasn't sanded, and my friend Robert is a elderly VET decorated in the Vietnam war. He has been laid up now for 2.5 days, and for me my head still thumps really bad. When it first happened and I contacted Hi-Hat the one who responded to my messages (I believe could also be the owner) he was all about helping us, even with a free meal. but lately, no response via messages, nor a call just now. We are trying to do the right thing but I can not wait too much longer for them to get back in touch with me. and don't know what else to do. There was an older gentleman and women who helped us from the ground there, and the man went in to tell management I really need you to contact me with the number I gave you please, as we don't know what else we could possibly do except to call my doctor after lunch. Be careful if you plan on eating there with the ice while walking and all I...
