Mi Casa Mexican Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Farmington

Not much different than the other local Mexican restaurants. Their house margarita was okay. I asked about their top shelf margarita and was told they are 32oz with either Patron, or Don Julio with Grand Marnier for like $17. I didn't order one, but unless he was mistaken, that sounds like a great price... I may have to make a special trip and try it out. Our meals were good. My steak enchilada with red sauce was very good, while my ground beef chimichanga was only fair. Their jalapeños were good and hot. We had flan for desert. It was less than as good as the other restaurants. The flan was heavy...far less than fluffy. The service was very attentive Overall, the place was almost as good as the others. Other than the prospect of a good top shelf margarita, nothing stood out. The price seemed a little higher...

We've had good experiences and great service. This time was different. We sat in a booth and hundreds of ants were eating something and went crawling everywhere so we moved booths, there was a toothbrush under the next booth so we passed that and sat down. I ordered the nachos with beef and chicken. It came out and had green peppers and onions on it. (Not listed on the menu or I would have asked for it without.) She brought out a new plate of nachos with just refried beans, cheese and lettuce. She said the beef was cooked in onion as well as the chicken. It was fine. I ate the nachos. When we went to pay they wanted to charge me for the original nachos. I didn't have meat, I shouldn't pay for meat that has something on it I can't eat and it wasn't listed. People have allergies and that can...

Good service, pleasant, polite server, management so so. When your server is learning a new language and your dining room is mostly empty, maybe manager can do the "is everything okay" check. In any case, someone needs to check. Food clearly mostly precooked and assembled from a steam table. Largely seemed unseasoned except for the overly sweet enchilada sauce. Masa for tamales was grainy. Chili relleno was okay but maybe filled with mozzarella. Not my first choice. Large servings. Pretty much perfect American style Mexican food served fast. $40 for two lunches with tip. Please don't hate me for wanting authentic Mexican food. I know probably the market here...
