This is a food truck. The food was well cooked. Simple ingredients. I usually judge food on two things. Is it tasty and was all of it edible. Many Asian restaurants add filler such as unchewable bamboo or lots of onion to their food. Or they use fake pressed meat. Yuck.
This one was not a faker, real food, real ingredients.
I ordered rice with steak $11, side of veggies $5 , and order of crab rangoon $4. A can of pepsi was only $1. This place actually had real steak, just a tiny bit of grisly. Overall the steak was well prepared, chopped into nice bite size morsels, with the right amount of season. I could taste the meat not a buch of seasonings, which I love! The fresh cooked veggies had a lightly flavored brown sauce, they were all cooked correctly and tender enough to bite without losing texture. Brown rice was a generous portion and cooked perfectly. Crab Rangoon was just o.k. a little too sweet for my taste. Did finsh all three of them though, I prefer a garlic , or more savory filling that is complemented by the sauce. It came with duck sauce, bland, not my favorite, I prefer plum sauce or sweet and sour with my Crab Rangoon.
The steak and veggies was very filing with the rice. No leftovers. But I was hungry today so I ate it all. So meat dish, for taste and fresness I'd say 4.2 Appetizer was a 3.5 Side veggies, was 4.2 points Server was nice and easy to communicate with They gave us a small side of a sauce that I thought was a yum yum sauce? It was very mayonaise like. It added some creaminess to the food, but not a lot of flavor. But I will definitely go back. In this small town the restaurants are not great. So glad to have found something new!
Of the choices for Asian inspired locally this one is pretty good. Give them a try!!! In my opinion The other similar places in town are a 3 rating or below, there is a Thai place that is a 4 and slightly better nearby, formal sit down. But this flavor is going to fit more of the Midwestern palates, it simple, good food.
Happy eating, thank you for a really good...
Read moreI have never liked sushi before coming here. My husband LOVES sushi and every few years I give it a shot for him. We had another sushi place in Festus that wasn't terrible so I agreed to trying O-Saki a few weeks later....
Well that was a mistake because now I'm obsessed with O-Saki 🫠. We get at least 1 roll every week on our days off. The owner and staff are all so nice. The food is simply amazing. My favorites are the fried farmington roll or the fried yummy yummy roll. Both are just 🤤🤤🤤 perfection. Never had a bad experience and we hope they can fulfill their dreams of opening a restaurant at their building one day as we would gladly be regulars! Love this place sooo much!
We had a california roll at another place in Saint Louis last week. It was so terrible I actually spit it out and my husband offered to grab me a roll from O-Saki on the way home to make up for it 😅 I really appreciate that they actually fill your roll with INGREDIENTS and not just rice or seaweed! If this hasn't convinced you yet, then you're...
Read moreFarmingtons hidden pearl! I am so blown away by this place. I’m happy to have a sushi place nearby that isnt shogun (which only opens at 3pm). The sushi was affordable, tasty and I got so much! I asked for two orders thinking the portions would be small because of the price. When I opened my meal I was so happy to see a big portion (in my opinion) for both orders. The professionalism and kindness of the gentlemen behind the glass carried over into the food; it looked and tasted just as they were advertising. It was very pleasing to the eye and clean. The menu had an entire hibachi selection so there’s something for everyone. I even got a buzzer to wait in my car so I didn’t have to wait in the cold! I’m extremely satisfied and excited to come again. definitely sharing this location/business with my friends and...
