My sons and I went for all you can eat catfish. We wet in and first off the restaurant looks very ratty. The floor is ugly and looks filthy. We got sat and after a awhile we finally got offered menus. We told the server we were there for the all u can eat catfish. We ordered our drinks and waited.... and waited. Finally got our drinks. And awhile later our first plates of food came. I was not impressed. We got 5 or six catfish nuggets with a handful of fries and a shotguns of tartar sauce. The fish was not terrible but if they cut the catfish themselves, they need to cut out the bloodline on that . If they source it, the need a better source. We ate anyway, trying to have a fun dinner. When we got down to 1 nugget each I told our server that we would be needing more soon... 20 minutes later we finally got more catfish. We were never offered refills of our drinks or anything. When I went to pay out I was shocked to find out they were charging $24 dollars a plate for this! Over $100 for 3 plates drinks and tip. Not worth it. Even at apple b's you get an appetizer and 2 entries for 25. This place, it food quality and service is no where near the quality it should be for the price they are asking. I have tried this company 3 times now. Once when they were a food truck, and now twice at this location. And 3 times I have been let down by either hockypucked burgers, crappy service, or crappy food and service and over charged all 3 times. Sad they are in sonjas old location. Sonjas took good care of their place , their food and their customers. I advise any thinking about trying this place to really think twice before going there. You can get more, and better food just about anywhere else. Me and my family, we will not...
Read moreI travel with work and anytime I'm in NM I try to sample another Green Chile Cheeseburger. I've hit most of the names on the best-of lists. Buckhorn. Owl. Sparkys. 505. But I'm always looking for something new. The Purple Cow was a last minute option as Farmington isn't a real chili mecca and some other choices were closed for Mother's Day. But this was the worst I've ever had. Dry. Bland. Sloppy. Soulless. For starters, someone cooked any memories of life from the poor burger patty. Imagine a mouth full of sawdust. But without the benefit of any pine scented flavoring. Stingily spoon on some cheap canned chili remnants. I gave an overall score of 3 because the place was clean and seemed well equipped. The bun was nicely buttered and toasted. The side dish was good. I would have scored a 1 on the service as a standalone. Disinterested. Seemed bothered that I was there. Never returned after unceremoniously dropping the food. No "2 bite or 2 minute" checkup. Not even a rumor about a drink refill... and with a burger as dry as Taos farmland, I certainly wanted more of the tea, if nothing else. Other patrons seemed happy. Maybe I just chose poorly. But it's New Mexico. Do better or take it off the menu. Someone from the hatch Chili Council should call the Ice hotline and have this...
Read moreWent for breakfast Sunday morning. There were 4 tables full. We ordered, then a few more tables came in 10-15 minutes after and ordered. Their food came, and we continued to sit and wait and wait. Our food finally came. My plate was warm, but food not hot. Like it had been sitting under a warmer. My patty melt was dry and bland and the bread tasted stale. I couldn’t get enough ketchup and mustard on it. The waitress suggested French fries. Yes they would have been good if they were hot! Boyfriends pancakes were dry and no flavor. He always cleans his plate, but left half his pancakes and bacon as they were greasy with odd flavor. After all this the waitress acted like us waiting for our food was our fault, and just slapped our bill on the table and walked away. All this for $50. Extremely over priced for what you get and how you’re treated! Will...
