We had been coming to Orask's for over 10 years. The service was always good, as was the food. Tonight I can honestly say that we will never set foot in this "restaurant" ever again. We ordered a couple of burgers, one with a side of fries, the other with onion rings. We waited for over 30 min for the order, so we assumed (mistakenly), that our orders would be hot and fresh. One burger was pretty much cold (the cheese didn't even melt on it), and the other was warm at best. However the onion rings and fries were cold, as if they'd been sitting around. When we complained, the waitress said she'd bring us out some freshly made fries and onion rings, well 20 min later she did. The fact that by then our burgers were beyond cold, didn't seem to bother her one bit. She was also not concerned with ever bringing us our bill. When we finally got tired of waiting, we walked up to the register and of course were asked if we had enjoyed our meal. When we told the cashier that it was the worst meal that we have ever had there, she offered to let us talk to the cook, thru the serving window. We voiced our concerns to a grizzled blond lady who would have looked more at home cutting up chum on a shrimp boat, than cooking for the public. I guess she and her coworker had also never heard of wearing hair nets and just figured that ball caps would suffice. She told us that she was tired and it was because they had so many orders to deal with (never mind that the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived as well as when we left. We tried telling her that we weren't visitors, yet locals from a nearby town, who had always patronized Orsak's. Her response was "Oh well, there are plenty of places to eat in your town!" It became obvious to us that this filthy old hag didn't care one bit about the slop she passes off as food. We'll take the rude hag's advice and stick to our local Dairy Queen, where the burgers and fries aren't over...
Read moreWe were so happy to get into a sit down restaurant after a long day if shopping in Warrenton. The staff were very nice and accommodated our larger group. The salad bar was great! Lots of choices. We had a variety of food - ribeye steaks and seafood were pretty good. The chicken fried was not that great in the night we went. Could have been an off night... The 3 desserts we had were not great. We just picked the wrong ones I guess. The banana pudding was in a huge cup and had 3 vanilla wafers. 2 on top and 1 in the very middle of the cup. Just a cup of pudding basically.. Cobbler was more of a dump cake with crumbles on top. No one ate past 1 bite. Not worth the price. On a good note, the mashed potatoes were excellent and the prices are very reasonable. We would definitely come again and try some different things. The staff was warm and friendly and that means...
Read moreI stopped in to try their chicken fried steak, thinking a small Texas town would know how its done. I planned to order take out since I was traveling with my dog and it was too cold to sit outside. The girl at the cashier asked if she could help and I told her I was interested in ordering to go. She said sure and informed me what I thought was 15 minutes but when I repeated it, she clarified that it was 50 minutes. Odd since there were empty tables, they're known for burgers (which usually are quick), and I hadn't even mentioned what I wanted to order. Maybe they were short staffed or deprioritize take out orders. And maybe the older Caucasian lady that just completed her take out order wasn't bothered by a 50 minute food order. But it quickly made me feel uncomfortable being the only non Caucasian person in the place.
I thanked her...
