It is a shame that all it took was this bad review to get this server fired!
A great server, who almost always gets tipped more than the 20%, has multiple regulars coming back asking for her, been there 4 years and has become one of the most reliable servers. Customers like her bold personality, they like being intrigued, instead of a quiet boring server. Guest are there for the food, atmosphere and the experience . Every once in a blue a guest who is not familiar with the servers personality gets offended or takes it the wrong way despite the excellent service they still had. This cost this server her job. Despite being there 4 years , in good with the key employees, manager and owner . All are people that been her friends ,drank with at employee christmas parties, beach days, etc, in her past 4 years and no one had her back? All it took was one bad review and BOOM she's done ? Did Manager even see this happen ? Nope. They believed the review and did exactly what the customer wanted ,no questions asked. Nobody had her back?
She didn't even get a call or wasn't spoke to about it , no warning ,no write up no meeting just terminated! Would of been nice especially since she been there 4 years and has three kids that depended on her tips .
As a restaurant manager myself in the last 20 years ,this makes me sick .Multiple establishments I've seen reviews and complaints lead to the termination of a key employees! The "customer is always right"? I understand defending the reputation and name of a business but there comes a time when management needs to stick up for their employees . I've learned and many will agree, customers will have a bad day and take it out on their server , or write a really nasty review.
In the long run it will destroy the morale of the employees ,destroy the strengths of the restaurant, employees will see how easily disposable they are no matter how hard they work or how long they been there .
As far as yelling at the elderly couple ,with many elderly guest you have to speak loud or shout to them they can't hear. My servers do the same with our elderly guest . Nobody else said nothing, the elderly couple didn't complain, you didn't say nothing to her to her face or to management u wait until you got home and left a nasty review.
All those nasty comments and you don't even know her. My WIFE is not cute ? your right she's not, shes beautiful . Bold,Hardworking, passionate about her job and this has hurt her . Marsh landing was family to her , but terminated without warning All over one bad review from a nasty customer who had nothing better to do . This is Marsh landing loss, not hers .

Read moreHave been back there since my last review and ordered other entrees which were very good. Well, today 10/10/2023 went back and ordered the gator and grits. Sorry to say it was not good at all. The gator again was rubbery and overcooked, hard to chew plus there was so much grease from the Andouille sausage that I used napkins to sop up the excess. Ordered carrots which were delicious. The collards were so salty that I could not even eat them. My son had the fried chicken which was overdone and dry. Have no idea of what has happened to this place but they definitely need a new cook or someone who can cook these dishes properly. Don't know when I will return. Ordered my gator and grits as normal on Saturday 4/13/23 and the gator was rubbery and the dish was so spicy, not like normal. Sent it back and I guess it was the manager, maybe owner who came out and said that if I wanted the same dish it would be the same and to order something else, her attitude was not what it should have been....So I guess they cook the gator all at once and it is heated up when it it ordered so it is not freshly cooked? I have enjoyed this dish many times and never had this experience with overcooked gator or even in gator and grits with the coating on it. I did order something different and it was good but yet why would you change something that is always excellent??? Entrees are great and never had a bad meal here but the desserts are terrible. Ordered Key Lime Pie to go and the crust was hard as a rock and the filling had no lime taste, just a blob of whatever it was. Also ordered peach cobbler and it was not very good. For the prices they charge for dessert , which is high, they definitely need to be better and wasted money tonight on ordering them to go. I threw out the so-called key lime pie, yes, it...
Read moreWent out of our way to try this place today for Sunday Brunch. Arrived around 10:30 am…. Place was about half full and we were seated right away. We ordered our food and coffee. The coffee came right away - but we waited another 20 minutes with no food ! I decided to ask out waitress and she checked the kitchen , then telling us that they were very busy and our order was only 1 ticket away from being prepared. I was a bit surprised about the “very busy” comment since they were only half full. Another 5 minutes and the food arrives. I had ordered the eggs Benedict with the fried green tomatoes. I cut into the egg and it was hard like a hard boiled egg ! After a few minutes when our waitress walked by I showed her the egg and said to her …. Aren’t eggs in a Benedict supposed to be runny, or is this the way they are served here ? She said , no - they should be runny, and that does look like a hard boiled egg. I’m sure you must be disappointed, and then she walked away ! I ate the muffin and fried green tomato and left the eggs. Then she brought out check. I thought it was one of the most blatant expressions of lack of interest in a customer I have seen in any business ! Not even an offer to redo the eggs …. Just a detached attitude that was like … yes you’re right - but too bad. I’m too busy to do anything for you.
I don’t know if this place is always like this. It’s a shame. The place is nice but the kitchen is crazy slow and the staff are completely detached. I was expecting a very nice brunch experience. It was a huge disappointment …. The kind of place I would...
