Natural Slice Pizza Shop — Restaurant in Fernandina Beach

We made the mistake of stopping by here, as Jacksonville locals, while taking my mother-in-law for a little ride. My spouse was checking out and we were just looking for something quick and close by because the hungry monster was starting to show. I should have known as soon as we turned into the Omni that it wasn't going to be great. And we weren't disappointed. The pizza was edible and the quality was like any gas station pizza in any small town across America. I don't know about the salt breast with salt harvested from the local Atlantic Ocean, but it certainly didn't add anything besides a few more words to the description. Our pizza had plenty of cheese, but it was almost like the shreds didn't melt. Another reminder that you're in a resort are the $5, self-serve, soft drinks. If you can't leave the resort then this is an inexpensive place to eat and someplace kids would probably enjoy and can remain pretty casual. Price, menu selection, taste, atmosphere, all a 1 star, at best. Can’t really even comment on service since you go up and order at a counter and self serve drinks. Like a fast food joint. Except the prices aren’t reflective of fast food! Spent $50 on 1 pepperoni pizza, 2 salads and 1 tiny glass of wine served in a plastic water cup (they only serve beer & wine here. No full bar). Which all would’ve been fine if it was actually decent food!

The salads were almost comical. Looked similar to the way hamburger toppings arrive on the side. Literally had to cut up the tomato slices, onions and cucumbers atop a pan full of tasteless iceberg lettuce. Topped my list of worst salads I’ve ever had!

The service was absolutely horrible. We placed our order and had a seat. We watched pizza after pizza leave the building that was ordered after ours. When my husband approached the staff and asked about our pizza he was told they had not started on it yet. My husband let him know that we had placed the order over an hour ago and watched multiple orders after us leave the building. The cook laughed at him, never apologized and just kept boxing up to go orders. We were not the only ones who were in the same situation. There were about 5 others.
