Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Ferndale

I had a frustrating experience today. I had asked to have $5 cash added to my bill then the rest put on my card bc I didnt transfer money over from my savings & didn't have enough to cover it the whole amount on my card. The young girl didnt have a clue what I was talking about & said it still wouldn't work that way without evening trying then the older gentlemen came over & told me the same thing. Common sense you add the $5 bill then swipe the card. Aside from that one of the items I got was the Ice flights. All of their pics show that it has custard on it so im assuming it came with it. I asked if the lid is flat, she said yes so i said well just leave the lid off so the custard will fit on it. She didnt ask a flavor & just added a small amount of vanilla which was fine. Meanwhile the screen was left open & a bunch of dirt flew in it & it was already pretty melted at this point. As Im looking at the receipt on the way home I was charged extra for custard, but why? I should if been informed that it was going to be an extra fee if it wasnt included. Needless to say I had to toss it out because I didnt want to give it to my children with dirt all in it. $16 later it was disappointing & I guess from now on we will be going to the ferndale snowball stand or the Ritas in linthicum. Disappointing because Ive been going there for many if years & its not cheap bringing 3 children there to begin with so when we do go its a special treat for them & they were upset they didnt get what...

I left a review before and of course it was 5 stars as it should be... but I had to come back and edit it and give it the review it deserves... now most people who read this will probably roll their eyes and say umm its italian ice come on.... but it's so much more than that.... FIRST AND FOREMOST....MISS JUNE AND MISS MICHELE ARE INCREDIBLE AND SO VERY SWEET AND ATTENTIVE. I will be honest I eat Rita's every single day and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I get the same flavor every single time. But they remember me...are always so friendly and honestly they are the reasons I ONLY go to that location despite having a Rita's about a mile from my home. I already went today in fact. SO THANK YOU MISS JUNE AND MISS MICHELE for making my favorite part of the day even. better... The man who served a friend and I was incredibly rude! We both ordered nearly the same thing, a sundae each. My friend ordered first with no problem, asking for 2 toppings as the menu says it they come with. I order, ask for my two toppings, the man says I can only have one, if I wanted the second, I'd have to pay extra. I ask him why, because the sign clearly states it COMES WITH 2 toppings, and he starts telling me I can have as many as I like if I'm gonna pay for them. I asked him repeatedly why I can only have the one when the sign is clearly visible, and states it come with two. He asks me why I gotta make it so complicated, at which point my friend steps in to handle the rest of it. I dont know why this man felt the need to speak to me as though I were a moron, but he clearly doesn't know how to speak to customers.
