Half of the employees were frantically throwing food together while the other half we're chatting amongst themselves. Masks weren't worn by any staff except 1 that was preparing food. I waited for 15 minutes to have my order taken. During that time the manager was talking to another employee that was leisurely clocking out, and they sure were having a good time... But I was not. Another employee came and clocked out right in front of me during that time. The employee that finally took my order seemed so stressed out of her mind, I don't blame her since she was 1 of 2 employees actively working among a total of 5 employees I counted on site. She didn't know the menu, had to ask the manager multiple questions, and as if my experience couldn't have gotten weirder... It did. The manager, with her huge St Patrick's themed nails, went on to type in an overly sassy attitude, with so many eye rolls, while multitasking barking remarks to the poor employee that started my order. When I learned that yet another item I planned on ordering "didn't come in on the truck yesterday", I let them know I'd come back another time. They seemed relieved to have one less customer. A line of 5 people had formed during this time and the manager instructed the staff to stop taking all in restaurant orders and only do drive through orders, how sad for the people lined up behind me that just wanted a Whopper... Who knows, maybe that didn't even come in on the truck yesterday. Thankfully there are other restaurants nearby, I'd recommend skipping out on Burger King in Fillmore until they get their...

Read moreWe stopped here to eat on our road trip. The person with me went in first to order and came back out after 15 minutes with no food. Puzzled, he said he knew I wanted to get some things and would wait in the car with the dogs while I bought what I needed.
I went to pick up his order while another guest was standing there mad. Not only was the other guest's order made wrong (she wanted no tomatoes, lettuce or mayo on her burger), multiple items were wrong and the manager was yelling at her staff. One of the staff went to use the restroom, which was loudly announced; he ate a fry off a tray next to the fryers and jovially departed. While the manager continued to curse the other employee, the fry eater returned about 5 minutes later and kind of mulled around. The manager scooped the fries off of the tray and put them in the cardboard holder for the disgruntled lady's order. I wouldn't feed this food to my dogs waiting in the car, so I figured we would forgo food poisoning and pick up prepackaged food from Conoco and pay for gas as the card reader of the pump I stopped at was broken. It did have a friendly sign inviting me inside to pay adorned with a smiley face. I would have loved to buy some food and gas, but there was no Conoco clerk when I walked in, and he/she remained absent for the entire 20 minutes I spent inside. Costa Vida was closed, so I have no comment on them.
I will say Maverick across the street was...
