Ruby's Wine House — Restaurant in Findlay Township

We went to Ruby's for the first time this past Friday, 5/16, and had a lovely time. We hadn't even thought of reservations but they are definitely recommended. The food was truly delicious as were the cocktails, as was the wine. Do the wine flights! Trust me, it's an excellent way to choose a bottle! Our server was Ava and she was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, engaging, outgoing and totally "with it". The ambiance is lovely as is the decor. The interior is rather cozy, lots of wood and it seems to help the acoustics a bit as far as absorbing sound because there is also plenty of glass. I'm on the spectrum and usually bothered by lights, sounds, textures, I mean, I can go on and on but I wasn't bothered by the environment. I worried at first cos the room was basically full of women and that can get yappy but like I said, it was fine. I could hear my partner and I didn't have to yell to be heard. Anyway, my partner got the arancini and the bean and greens stew, I got the dish (forgot it's name, something with a "B" and it's not on their website) that had the tasty vodka sauce with a mozzarella ball and it was delicious. I love vodka sauce and I eat mozzarella virtually every day, so it was the best of both worlds. The cocktails are a spectacular presentation in many ways and tasty! I do think we were overcharged because no amount of math is making sense to me as to why we were charged like $170. My partner told me this way too late cos I would have looked at the receipt but that's that. We both also love that kids are not allowed inside the establishment but they are welcome in their little patio as are pups. Poor service and unpleasant experience from the waitress.

My response to your response: We (a few of us) went to your establishment to have wine with dinner. One of us went inside to ask if we may sit outside since was a very nice day in Pittsburgh. You had two persons worked outside. One young tall dark hair gentleman and one young lady in ponytail. We were the first group outside seated. Both workers looked us and never said hello I will be right with you or nothing. Then a ladies group arrived. The young gentleman immediately “jumped” on the ladies group. Took they order and they received their orders. Then a family with a dog arrived. We waived to both worker we are ready to order. No response. Nothing. Your workers took the orders from the family with the dog. They received their order. We had already waited over 20 min. We waited patiently. Another group arrived. Same thing happened. So, we decided to go somewhere where we can be served as guest should be. Before you respond to a negative review my recommendation to you, have a glass of your wine and take an anger management class and train your staff. Absolutely love Ruby’s. We have been here twice now and it’s super convenient as it’s close to home for us. Love the drinks, the special cocktails are always cute and seasonal! The food we have tried has always tasted amazing. I would give them 5 stars but I have to say the pricing is very upscale and too high in my opinion. I agree with a previous review on this topic. We spent more here than we do at most upscale restaurants we visit for anniversaries/birthdays. As much as we love it we will probably only come for one drink and an app next time due to the pricing. Overall a very fun, great experience!

Edit to original review: I have since dined at Rubys several more times since my last review. I updated with 5 stars. Although the pricing is high in my opinion I feel that the quality of the food and drinks is worth it. Not to mention the staff is always so kind!! I always have so much fun here. My husband and I love coming here for date night and the food is always fresh and spectacular. I will gladly pay the extra $$ for the experiences I’ve had here!
