La Azteca Taco House — Restaurant in Flint

THIS HOLE IN THE WALL PLACE IS A PLEASANT STOP. YOU DO NOT GO THERE FOR THE MUSIC OR DECOR. YOU GO THERE TO EAT AND ENJOY TALKING TO THE STAFF AND FELLOW CUSTOMERS. IT WAS OUR FIRST VISIT . DRIVING BY YOU WOULD WONDER WHAT IS GOING ON. THERE ARE SEVERAL CARS PARKED TO THE SIDE TO A RATHER AVERAGE LOOKING BUILDING. THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS BELOW AVERAGE BUT THE RESTAURANT PARKING IS CLEAN. EVEN THE DUMPSTER AREA IS KEPT UP. FOOD WISE THE FOOD IS AUTHENTIC HOME MADE . I WANTED TO TRY MANY ITEMS AND BOUGHT TAKE OUT A DOZEN TACOS, AND TAMALES. LIKE ANOTHER PERSON MENTIONED THE STEWED WET BURRITO IS TO DYE FOR.NOTE THEY DO HAVE A COUPLE OF SAUCES TO CHOOSE FROM. ASK FOR THE ONE THAT SUITS YOU. SUPPORT THIS PLACE. THERE IS OWNER SHIP CHANGES GOING ON. FLINT HAS A LOT OF TINY PLACES TUCKED AROUND IT WITH FAR SUPERIOR SERVICE AND FOOD YOU JUST HAVE TO SEARCH. THIS PLACE UNLIKE THE BIG BOX PLACES HAS NOT LOST FRIENDLY SERVICE AND HAND MADE PRODUCT..EVEN A BOTTLE OF SODA IS JUST 1.50 VERY REASONABLE, THE TACOS ARE THE SAME PRICE AS TACO BELL AND YOU GET A HAND MADE CORN SHELL NOT THE HARD...

I would like to rate the food alone a 4.7. A cool restaurant to order Mexican inspired food. The location is a 2.1 because it's by a store that has a high activity of drug users hanging around the local bus stop. Also getting in and out of the parking lot is difficult if you are not from the area. The appearance of the building is 3.5. They added another parking lot after the house next door was burned to the ground. But it's not paved adding for a bumpy ride. Also trash can be seen spilling over the top of the dumpster. The staff is 1.5. I gave the staff a low score due to the long waits. Even with a called in order. It's not enough seating for called in orders or sit in customers. Depending on the time of day a person could wait 30 minutes for a called in order standing in a cramped area. Cleanliness is 3.4 because it's constantly busy I understand the slight mess but the dust on the art pieces makes me scared to eat there for fear of dust flying on...

Alright always change my review when I revisit a place or try to. I went yesterday I sat and ate at Table Six it was crowded cuz it was Taco Tuesday not necessarily inside the restaurant to eat but people picking up their orders and making orders. So the young lady that was helping on the table 5 she came back and forth a couple of times for that table but never even said anything to me about I'll be right with you or someone will help you in a minute. But the young lady whose table it was when she saw me cuz she was taking orders also at the cash register so she was actually doing double and triple Duty by given food taking orders and waiting on people eating in the restaurant. I don't know her name but she did a excellent job the food was good only thing I suggest is make sure the food is hot for the people that are eating there cuz I know when they take it out it's not going to stay hot but my service was great...
