We decided to stop for breakfast at 207 Diner since we had passed it numerous times. Unfortunately, it was both our first and last visit. To begin with, there were significant issues with the food quality and safety protocols. We ordered the Philly Steak Omelette and the Meat Lovers Omelette, accompanied by a side of bacon. The menu offered a choice of hash browns, grits, or fried potatoes; however, at 12 pm, only hash browns were available due to a shortage of potatoes and grits. The omelettes were poorly stuffed, with the Meat Lovers featuring burnt bacon and sausage, while the Philly Steak was made with cheap, overcooked ingredients that emitted excessive grease. The hash browns were undercooked. Furthermore, the diner ran out of bacon during our visit, and the side order we received consisted of only 2.5 slices, which were overcooked. Moreover, there were serious food safety concerns. The kitchen staff failed to wear gloves and hairnets, and we observed glasses being placed directly into the ice bin without a scoop, which is a serious contamination risk. Additionally, we witnessed the staff refilling disposable ketchup bottles by adding new product to old, without regard for how long the old product had been in the bottle. The staff also picked up dirty dishes from tables, wiped the tables with a rag, and then handled clean plates from the kitchen window without washing their hands. As a food safety manager, it was disheartening to observe these egregious food safety violations. These issues are not only unacceptable but also indicative of a broader lack of adherence to nationwide food safety standards. If the diner cannot meet these basic standards, it raises serious concerns about the overall quality of their food, safety and service. In conclusion, we strongly advise against visiting this establishment if you value good food and food...

My decades in hospitality taught me to always strive to exceed expectations. Unfortunately this is not the case, here.
A restaurant in this location should be packed at lunchtime. It looks great, and my service was fast and friendly.
Unfortunately, my craving for a Philly Cheese steak was left wanting for a redo. The upcharge for additional meat should have been a clue.
It was a soggy mess of a smattering of ground [steak, I guess?], canned mushrooms, glorified Cheese Whiz, and crunchy chopped peppers and onions on flimsy, over-toasted bread. It cost me $13.00 and tasted like nothing, really.
Here is an opportunity for a restauranteur to take advantage of a great location and decent atmosphere and revisit the menu. I have yet to be impressed by anything that I’ve gotten here.
The money spent on quality ingredients and preparation would be recouped by increased business volume, in my...
Read moreThis restaurant is the first good restaurant in East Palatka as you arrive on Florida 207 from Interstate 95 and I'm glad I chose to eat here. My server was Caelyn, or something like that, and she was very pleasant. She pointed out that meatloaf is a popular choice every day but I also saw on a newly installed indoor billboard that Mondays and meatloaf are a fan favorite. I enjoyed the homemade taste and the real mashed potatoes (something rare in some restaurants I've been in before). I chose to wash it down with ice water, and the water tasted fine compared with the water I get in Jacksonville. I couldn't complain about the value ($12.99+tax). Unlike some restaurants I've been in that had really small bathrooms, the men's restroom was clean and spacious. I was impressed with the televisions showing the various specials through the week. I definitely want to return and enjoy the breakfast and other meals, especially the fried chicken...
