Most Recent Visit: Salsa and the food didn't have the WOW factor that made me fall in love with this place. Personally, I think tomatoes in Pico de Gallo should be crunchy to the bite, but these today were soggy. The food was good, but didn't provide that euphoric jolt I was expecting. After having been to this restaurant multiple times now during different times of the day, I think the recipe for a superb dining experience at this restaurant is going as soon as the doors open to ensure freshness of all ingredients. I feel so guilty tarnishing my original review because I'm absolutely head over heels for this place when they hit the mark.
Original Review: This could be the most legit Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at. The combination of superior tasting food and seating ambience makes this a must try for both Naples natives and visitors. Three different salsas are served with varying spice levels, all are superb, my favorite being the Pico de Gallo. Their guacamole is always fresh with the avocado's being used always at the apex of ripeness. Their single margarita on the menu is a true one-hit wonder. If you're tired of watered down, overly sugared, and low alcohol margaritas, this one will absolutely create a mind blowing, food manifested orgasm that will hook you in and wipe you off your feet. I will admit, the first time I tried this restaurant was during dinner hours, and I was not sold on its WOW factor. After returning twice for lunch, I immediately fell head over heels for it. I recommend all Mexican food lovers to...
Read moreIt was 105 heat index outside but as soon as I stepped into Amigos, I could feel and sense a very cool vibe. Darker ambiance but this is ideal after being in the bright Florida sun. My eyes were immediately drawn to the long bar as it was tastefully lighted with cool blue LED lighting and all glass encased refrigerators on bottom contained well stocked selection of Mexican beers and top half had good section of hard liquor including numerous types of tequila. My only complaint is that bar stools are too bulky, heavy, and close making it a challenge to maneuver oneself into and out of stool. The bartender was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the $10.95 lunch special and chose one steak enchilada and one chicken enchilada. Being 2:00pm on a sweltering mid August weekday, I was the only patron. As soon as I ordered, I heard two chefs slicing, dicing and cooking the entire time. Everything is homemade and made to order. The enchiladas were excellent. Chicken and steak were both flavorful and tender. Topped with cheese and fresh lettuce. Two types of homemade sauces and sour cream came with special as well as rice and beans and homemade chips and fresh salsa. For authentic Mexican dining in a cool clean atmosphere, you can't...
Read moreLet me just start by saying this place has the best chips you have ever had. Don't say I don't know that because, well, I do know that lol. The Familiar and I bot ordered the Nacho's (lunch special between 12:30pm and 3:30pm for 8.95), I had the pork and she had the shredded beef. The Familiar hates sour cream so she asked for them without. Service took a long time, like a very long time especially just for nachos. In fairness there was a table full of Canadians beside us and ask any server, no one likes Canadians in the restaurant industry... We got our food eventually, they did install sour cream on top of both orders but we didn't mention it because we were simply too hungry at that point. The food was outstanding though. Their cheese is great! I would totally give this place another shot, just without...
