On Friday, March 28th, I made dinner reservations in advance for a party of five at Palmer Legends Country Club. We ordered appetizers and entrees, and when the meals arrived, my father-in-law was given the wrong dishânowhere close to what he ordered. He had asked for the fish special, and the waiter brought something entirely different and just placed it in front of him without explanation.
We pointed out the mistake, and while the waiter apologized and said heâd bring the correct meal right away, it took over 45 minutes for it to actually arrive. The rest of us waited about 10 minutes to start eating, expecting the issue to be resolved quickly. It wasnât. By the time his meal finally came out, the rest of us had already finished eating.
About 30 minutes in, the manager, Lily, came over and asked how things were going. We explained the situation, and she reassured us that the meal was on its way and offered complimentary champagne as a gesture. While I appreciated the effort, it felt like an afterthoughtâespecially since we had underage diners and others who donât drink.
After the meal, I asked to speak with Lily again to express my frustration over how poorly this situation was handled. I was told she had left for the night. I then asked who the current manager on duty was and was told it was someone named Arie. I waited for a few minutes, only to be told that Arie was âtoo busyâ to come speak with me.
That, to me, was the final straw. Not only was the original mistake never truly addressed with any real urgency or care, but when I tried to give the restaurant an opportunity to hear direct feedback, the manager couldnât be bothered to come speak with a paying customer.
This experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability, urgency, and basic customer service is unacceptableâespecially at a restaurant that presents itself as a quality dining experience. I wonât be returning, and I wouldnât recommend...
Read morePalmer legends country club is handicapped accessible and parking is free. My husband and I used to eat here at least once per week. The food used to be outstanding. One time we ordered lunch and my husbandâs steak and cheese sandwich was sour and the meat tasted mushy. When he told the waitress she took it off our bill but then the cook came out to see who was complaining!! Like really!! Ok so then a month goes by and we say lets try palmers legendâs c c again. So this time we ordered dinner. He had the chicken Parmesan and the chicken was cooked before and reheated and placed in the dish with pasta and sauce. The chicken was so hard he could not cut it with a knife. I had the salmon on a plank and it was really dry and had no taste. The potatoes were burnt because again they were premade and cooked again. The bread is too hard to chew, very tough and over microwaved. The waitresses have to be more personal and less attitude. She didnât ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. She seemed too busy to care. We wasted that meal because we couldnât take it home and reheat it. Upon leaving the club out front we smelled a high quality marijuana being smoked in the back by the kitchen and dumpster. It stunk up the whole front and back to the patio!! So now I realized why the food had gone downhill. You all need to hire someone else who takes pride in the food they cook and serve. And hire people who save the pot smoking for home and not at the county club! So disappointing. We will not be returning. Not recommended. The price was over 80 dollars for two. UPDATE as of 6/1/2025⊠under new management!! ...
Read moreGreat course. Only hit the bar during happy hour!!! Had gone here several times for a couple of beers. Obviously I know it's more after happy hour, I'm not stupid. BUT - $4.50 for a Michelob on tap???? Had 2 and went to Havana - $2.50 all day, same beer...Go figure. Would go back for the course, but not for beer, unless it was happy hour. Also, I had hit a bucket of balls one Sunday morning, (This was a while ago). bought two new wedges and wanted to work with them. I had a good session and decided to go back later that day. When I pulled into the parking lot, a lady came out of the pro-shop and asked if I had hit balls already that day. Of course I told her yes. She said they couldn't let me hit balls again because I was taking divots. My index is 1.7, so while I am not Tiger, I do know how I was taught to hit a ball. AND I know how to pattern the divots so that the seeding will take easier. You make a nice little rectangle. I was floored when she said I couldn't use the range. All the ranges I have been to in The Villages have the same issue...you have people that don't know how to use the turf properly. When I go I always see divots all over the place. I actually try to connect them so the ground heals better. Would always go back to Palmer - Just not the...
