Astro Handcrafted Ice Cream in Lutz is definitely a unique spot! If you’re looking for bold, adventurous flavors, this place delivers. We tried the Café con Leche and Orange Dreamsicle (one with cheesecake bites, one in a waffle cone topped with marshmallows and a cherry), and all of them were super rich and flavorful. The scoops are large, and the sweetness is intense—delicious, but a bit much for a full scoop if you’re used to lighter flavors. I was hoping to mix in something milder to balance it out, but couldn’t find a lighter option on this visit.

I was especially looking forward to trying the Tampa Guava Cream, but sadly it was sold out—next time for sure! The shop itself is clean, the staff was friendly, and there was plenty of parking, which was great. Seating is very limited, so plan on taking it to go if it’s busy.

Overall, definitely worth a visit if you’re into creative and bold ice cream flavors....

Ice cream is fabulous quality but some of the flavors are too much. The banana pudding would have been great with JUST banana pudding or even on a chocolate ice cream. The giant globs of pb took it to a bad place. The brown sugar whiskey was AH-MAZING but the addition of the cookie batter made it last choice. Leave that amazing whiskey flavor ALONE! Many of the flavors fell in the same category so it was hard to choose. Husband got the banana pudding and picked out the pb globs. I got the cream cheese guava and it was good but not the flavor I would have settled on if not for all the random flavor combos in the other ice creams. Overall, great product but flavor chef gets too excited. Reel it in. Sometimes when it comes to a flavor combo, less is so much more

Oh yea, no bathroom,...

Great spot to bring younger kiddos to get a good portion sized Ice cream. The flavors are definitely different. I tried the strawberry lemonade sorbet and it was very sour for my own liking. We also had a coffee one and it tasted like a black cup of coffee. The prices were super reasonable with a kiddie size being 3.50 plus toppings. Which is great size because my two toddlers age 4 and 3 ate just the right amount without any of it going to waste. And they added toppings Which were like .50 each. So very affordable. They have a couple places to sit inside but they also have seating outside. A little tight squeeze if you are in a wheelchair - but the staff is super super friendly they will accommodate everyone. Overall it’s a nice ice cream...
