We came here for brunch as I saw they had shrimp and we had a craving for them. Unfortunately, these were about the worst shrimp I've ever had because they were covered in some kind of thick slime that made them so slippery they were difficult to peel. It was like a thick mucus and I have no clue what it was but I definitely do not recommend ordering them. I lived at the ocean for a few years and have eaten shrimp hundreds of times and have no clue what they did to make them slimy like this. They did not taste like they were old or had turned or anything like that, but the flavor didn't even taste like shrimp or old bay which the menu said they were boiled in, and just kind of had some sort of mild spice flavor and that was it. We sat on the patio and the atmosphere and scenery was great, but the service was not. We sat there with empty beer glasses and then apparently a shift changed happened and once the other girl came around we just told her we would take the check and go somewhere else as we were waiting on two other people to get there. As soon as they arrived we all left and went elsewhere. I will try this place again in the future when we come back to visit as it is across the road from our family members' house, but I definitely will not be ordering the shrimp and will hope that the shift change is the reason for the beat lack of attention and having to go find our own server.

Unfortunately, Bonifay has gone downhill very quickly over the summer season. The bartenders are overwhelmed, there are not enough servers to handle a busy night, and the kitchen is starting to short takeout orders. The photo attached to this review is the $20 "Halfway to St Patrick's Day" special in an 8" takeout container. About 3 ounces of corned beef, 2-2" diameter boiled red potatoes, 1/8 cup of canned carrots, and about 1/4 cup boiled cabbage stem end pieces. If you order the same for dine in, you receive a much bigger and better portion. My suggestion: sit at the bar, order a dinner or two, enjoy a drink while you wait, box your dinner(s) up when you receive it(them), tip your bartender well (it's not their fault!), and go home to enjoy your dinner.

Went on a Saturday lunch time 12:30 pm, there were just 3 other tables with people eating yet we waited over 5 minutes or longer for someone to come and seat us, very rude young girl/server came and just said ‘how many’ in her greeting. Sat at table waited over 10 mins with not a staff member in sight for a drink/order to be taken, in the end a lady not a server who was cleaning tables came and asked if she could help. Food took another 20 plus minutes to come out and was barely ok! The pretzel bites appetizers were bland, just burnt dough balls no flavor no salt with a cheese dip which had a thick skin on top on and clearly reheated heated, nachos were swimming in liquid at bottom of dish and bottom natcho layers really soggy, other two meals burger and a salad were ok.. fastest service received was getting the check which came out without even having to ask for it. My bad, the red flag should have been the almost empty restaurant upon arrival and wait to be seated with no staff members around. Outside was empty as it was 90 plus f, so staff were not busy there, we should of have left then. Will NEVER go back and this isn’t first time it’s been horrible, I didn’t chose to eat there, my friend did. Did have a good laugh though when waiting on arrival when a large sign seriously stated … SPECIAL OFFER .. 2 meals for $30 or 1 meal for $15 was also on printed meal leaflets 🤔. ...

Well, we sat outside but the table being seated at was dirty. The hostess washed it for us but never dried it. My husband asked the bartender for a towel. The hostess came back with water and said the waiter is not at work yet. We waited at least 10 minutes for the waiter to appear. We originally arrived around 3:30PM. We both ordered the 5oz steak and the very young waiter came back to let us know the meat was frozen and would take longer to prepare it and cook. Well, it was not worth the wait. Both steaks looked like fake rubber, over cooked and couldn't even cut it. We flagged down the waiter and he took it away and we asked for a manager. We ordered burgers instead and they were not prepared to our liking and was asked if we wanted another. Our sweet potatoe souffle crock container was hot but the sweet potatoe was not even warm..very odd. We were asked if we wanted any desert while eating our burger like they were trying to rush us or the young waiter did not know the protocol on dining. He was very sweet but needed more experience and training. My husband did not get his beverage with the meal nor any ketchup or mustard. I got tired of looking for our waiter who we couldn't find and got up to see if I could grab someone working there for help. This was a very bad eating experience. Maybe we should never go out to eat on a Monday. The best...
