Cake Stand Desserts — Restaurant in Florida

I feel sad to write this. I had such high hopes for this establishment. The cake on the outside looked beautiful, stunning, and trendy. The chocolate mousse on the inside is absolutely delicious, as is the chocolate drizzle. It was my mother’s 80th birthday. We couldn’t wait to celebrate and eat this.

When we dug in… the sponge cake inside was pretty tasty and just a little too dry. But the buttercream was a huge disappointment. Huge disappointment and difference compared to how delicious the chocolate mousse is. The buttercream (which was supposed to be vanilla) had zero flavor. None. It tastes like straight up butter with no cut of sweetness or vanilla.

Because we ordered a lot of buttercream (mom’s favorite along with mousse) it made the cake inedible that we gagged. The only part that was manageable to eat was the chocolate mousse, some of the sponge cake, and the chocolate little candies writing. We couldn’t eat any of the rest (basically the entire cake) and thinking about it makes me want to throw up.

Jason seems super talented. Have no idea what happened with the buttercream, if he forgot ingredients or sugar, but it was pure butter- good quality butter but zero other flavor making it inedible. It was a lot of money… I was expecting it to all be delicious. Now we have a lot of cake leftover and it’s pretty sad since it was so pretty.

Cake Stand Desserts has the most wonderful people that are as sweet as what they provide. Jason ( pastry chef) Becky (shop manager) and Dawn (assistant) are very welcoming and helpful with any order you’ll need. I called around to several places that were “to busy” due to this time of year until I found them. Cake Stand Desserts is a gem you almost don’t want to share as they are the small shop that just does it perfectly. The cake parade (don’t know how else to describe how when the cake was brought out at the venue) had so many people “oooh” and “aaah” with “wow” and a few “omg” as it went past patrons to get to us. But the so called “icing on the cake” was when you had a taste. You know there are always the “I just want the tiniest sliver” people. Well they came back for seconds and thirds. The flavors were deliciously divine. Stamp your foot and raise your hands in a dance of cake-liciousness. Please visit them online and most especially in their quaint bakery. I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough.

OMG!! This place is amazing!!! I decided to come here to get some desserts for my family and I for my weekly cheat meal, and it did not disappoint! I came across this place in a Google search, and I’m surprised I haven’t heard of it before (since it’s close to my house). The tiramisu was the best tiramisu I have ever eaten in my life! The cakes and pastries are amazing, too! I am sitting here writing this review and feel like I’m gonna throw up because I could not stop eating the six different desserts that I bought.
