Darrells Diner — Restaurant in Florida

Today I went to Darrell’s Diner. To say the least I was dissatisfied with my breakfast. To start off my wife and I ordered some drinks. The orange juice I ordered tasted like some dollar store off brand. Charging over $3 for a cup. Was never given a straw, or a full glass of OJ, the waitress ran out. Said she would top it off when she came back, but never did. We then ordered some biscuits and gravy, and I was disgusted. Taste… well there was none. The gravy was watered down, clearly to stretch it out which had no taste whatsoever. The biscuits were a joke, I’ve had better biscuits at Waffle House. This biscuit honestly tasted like it was made in a state penitentiary. The reason the atmosphere is 1 star, is for the simple fact that the show Supernatural was on the TV in front of us. While I’m eating there is a man hanging himself on said show. Not really the vibe I’m looking for while eating. Or is it a family environment. The portions are there, but there is absolutely NO FLAVOR, OR LOVE in this cooks kitchen. Their prices are ridiculous, I just wished there was more quality than quantity with the food. I spent over $50 there, and regret every second I stepped in there and sat down. Would of got a better breakfast at McDonald’s and thats saying something. DO NOT… DOOOO NOT GO HERE IF YOU LIKE SEASONED, GOOD FOOD. But if your palette is bland you’ll love it here. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Post Thanksgiving breakfast excitement quickly turned to frustration over luke warm food and slow service. Two waitresses for the day after Thanksgiving breakfast. In a small town? Really? Several local restaurants have closed because of poor management. Things need to change here, or there will be no waitresses and only hungry patrons. Lisa busted her but tried to take care of all of her customers. Resulting in food being left in the kitchen to cool off. By no means it it their fault. They're doing their best. UPDATE 29Nov24: Tried to visit again. Our order was taken before several tables, including a large table. After an hour, we still never received our food. The large table was served it's entire meal. And several other tables received their meals, and cashed out. Still no food. We walked out and told them to cancel the order. Hope others have better luck than we did. What has happened to this place?It's a while since we've been there, but today we went for breakfast. The service was almost non existent. Had to wait for a server, who left us in the middle of taking our order, for some unknown reason, and when she returned, was rude and couldn't care less. We had to ask several times for decaf coffee, with no response. The server failed to ask if the bill should be split between the two couples, we had to figure it out. I will say in fairness that the food was very good but courteous service was totally absent.
