Based on multiple conversations about who has the best pizza in Apopka overall for taste, price, consistency, etc. Someone mentioned that Del Francos was under new ownership and they had excellent pizza. So I decided to give this a try, despite being a 20 minute drive from my house. I kept it simple and ordered for Pick-Up, a 20" cheese pizza. This was a decent price for $18.50. I added Mushrooms for another $3.50. Please note, there is a 4% charge for using a credit card. Anyway, it smelled great in the car, I got it home, and it looked great. With anticipation I took my first bite, and it was pretty decent. It misses the mark for a true NY/Brooklyn pizza flavor as you can taste the presence of Butter, but overall, the crust was good, plenty of cheese, and an acceptable amount of Mushrooms. If you are planning on dining in, please note that the dining room lacks the ambiance of a pizzaria in any way, shape, or form. Take away the storefront sign and remove the garlic, and crushed red pepper, and this could be almost any eatery. Aside from that, it will be worth the drive in the future to pick up a pie or two. Hopefully the flavors remain consistent.

Paid 64$ for 2 jumbo pizzas last Fri night, meat lovers with extra sauce had light sauce and very little meat. Texted number on receipt for feedback asking for either a partial refund for charging me for extra sauce and for not being happy with the overall quality of the food and have had no response. I will not be ordering from here until someone makes this right. Food is getting expensive enough right now without having to worry about quality. I have never paid $64.00 for 2 pizzas in my 48 years of living, so it is only fair that if you pay up for quality you should have high expectations and hold them accountable when they don't deliver on that value. Maybe it was just a one-off, but this is how places go south, not delivering on the value they are charging for. People will find other places who do.

The pizza was ok. Dough was too heavy and thick for my taste, but that’s a personal preference. My issue was with the overall value. $25 for a medium pizza is overpriced. I paid $2 each for 3 toppings and got a sprinkle of each. They were so sparse I thought 1 topping was missing at first. Additionally, I didn’t appreciate the 10% tax (tip) for picking up my own pizza. I worked in the service industry for a long time and tip well when appropriate. Yet, a mandatory minimum 10% tip for someone to hand me a pizza box is absurd. Amendment - I stand corrected. The system defaults to 10% with 15% or 20% as options. If you select “other”, you can enter a $0 tip, but this is not intuitive and steers customers towards just accepting the default. Disappointed to see that was the only issue addressed from my review.

I've been a customer of Del Franco's for over 2 years now and I had a chance to receive service from old management a little over a year ago (which I'd like to comment was incredible)!

With that being said, the new management (husband and wife) started out well when they first took over and customer service was pleasant. I always tip the team and hearing cheers and howls mimicking dogs was quite jovial and unique.

Since then, they have far removed themselves from being close to nice.

There were times when my wife would order food on the phone, and the owner (husband) would be very rude to her as if she was an annoyance to contribute to his business. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt as like any human, we all have rough days and who knows what he could be going through.

As I mentioned above, when tipping, you would hear jovial howls from the team, but at this point in the ownership stage, it sounded more like a trained routine with no energy our enthusiasm.

The LAST, and I mean LAST time that they'll ever get my money, I decided to take advantage of the Grub Hub coupon and ordered using the app for a pickup. The order was done promptly but not accurately. When I got home from picking up the pizza (which I should have checked before I left), I realized some items were missing from it that I had mentioned in the "notes" to include in the Grub Hub order. I called immediately and calmly spoke with the other owner (wife) who claimed that there were no notes in the order. She then cheerfully told me goodbye with no reconciliation or recourse. She didn't seem to care at all for my needs as a customer who contributed to the well being of their family business. I felt empty after the conversation, almost as if I was unimportant and no longer needed.

I understand I can eat anywhere, but I genuinely like the pizza and prefer to keep funds locally and in the community. I guess this is not something that is of their concern with the negative attitude that they have been passing along recently with their customer service.

I hope the new owners read this review as a warning that they should be concerned about putting customers first and delivering quality service. It is much better to receive negative feedback from a customer as it is an opportunity to improve one's self rather than silently loosing a customer.

Maybe in a few years I will try Del Franco's again to see if they've improved, but for now, we've certainly parted ways.

Thank you for ruining what could have been a long-lasting beautiful...

My biggest impressions about this restaurant were of the high quality and freshness of the food and that the portions were extremely generous for the price of the item. I was dining with my husband and we hadn't eaten all day, so we decided to try a couple of items because our time is always limited and we had been wanting to try Del Franco's for awhile but never had enough time. The pepperoni roll (specialty stromboli) and the meat lover's pizza (we substituted fresh mushrooms for the ham) was fresh, cooked perfectly and I personally really enjoyed the crust on the pizza. I also tried their Greek salad and asked them to leave off a couple of the items in this, and they never missed a beat in getting my order correct! ALL of the staff were friendly, efficient, proficient, knowledgeable about the menu, and even though they were busy for a Thursday afternoon, our food was brought out (CORRECTLY PREPARED THE FIRST TIME) pretty quickly given the number of other patrons in the restaurant that afternoon. Their prices are extremely reasonable given the large portion size that you receive. Local families and residents (this was during the Summer when the kids were out of school) and people working in the area (lots of construction, etc. on Hwy. 46 right now) seemed to frequent this establishment the most, probably because it is a trusted place for great food for anyone and everyone. I highly recommend that you (and your family and friends) visit this local Sorrento (small town) eatery for fresh, delicious food and extremely nice service from the staff. We will be going back to try other menu items and hope that you guys make the time to enjoy this place. You can be dirty from working outside, a large family group, a single diner or anything in between -- everyone that I saw there that day was treated with respect and dignity and they all received great and efficient service, even though they were pretty busy with takeout orders going on at a steady rate as well. You will be glad that you stopped by to help support the local economy and not a franchise-pizza...

I moved to the Mount Dora area about a year ago and was happy to find a good pizza spot. I have ordered from here often and never had any issues. Yesterday on 12/7/2023 I ordered a small pizza and wings. I asked for the wings to be Xtra crispy with extra lemon pepper. I payed over 30 dollars. I do not mind spending for something I enjoy. I picked up the pizza and wings get home and the pizza had been over cooked (burnt)and the wings were not how I asked. No problem, mistakes are made. So I decided to call up and see if there was something they could or would be willing to somehow make it right. I told her I would even bring it back up. I was told by a young lady who answered the phone (her name started with a J) that the owner was out on a delivery and she would talk to him and call me back. I called back today and the same young lady answered and told me that she didn't call back because when she told the owner he said " so what people call and complain all the time and then order pizza again the next day" Then she stated the owner doesn't speak English. I said "that's not a good look for a review. She said so what and hung up the phone. I am big on customer service. This is just another example of how businesses only care about getting your money. Rude employees who treat customers anyway they want. I wasn't asking for a refund, I only wanted what I paid for, but I guess the customer experience means nothing. I wonder if they treat all of their customers like this..or just the ones that look like me.

Its funny you can apply to a review and not give a call back like I was told to expect when a customer calls to complain. Further more, that is exactly how the conversation went, and exactly what I was told. I do not appreciate the fact that you are implying that I am lying,I'm not sure what your rude employee, told you. .but I have it all recorded Incase you would like to hear. BTW..I offered to bring it all back, but was told not to because the owner...
