Ding A Ling Deli — Restaurant in Florida

I have secretly been searching a while now for down home bacon and eggs cooking ... and I have finally found this treasure! Husband and wife owned... good hearted, hard working, trying their best to serve each guest. And the customers casually visiting with each other. Just like it used to be growing up.

A couple years have passed since I wrote the above. I would like to add the following: 10/29/2023

WHY NOT ?!!?? Why not gather At your local Mom & Pop Breakfast/Lunch Hub And share a casual conversation about "things" ... About "Your Life's Things" About everyday "Things" And how what is going on ... With "The BIG" picture is Affecting "US" ?!!???

The news was airing on the TV this morning at "The My Ding-A-Ling" Restaurant here in Okeechobee, FL. ... (Which incidentally has EXCELLENT food) ... The news was covering the recent events over Israel and "US Support" and non-support.

Maybe ... I have to get my hearing checked? Now that I'm 70 ... My son says I speak too loud in public. And that my commenting on such serious events over breakfast is inappropriate topic to discuss with people (such as himself) that just woke up.

I must say ... He made a valid point.

BUT ... When your 70 ... your mind is no longer experiencing that "sleep in grogginess" because it's been awake since 6:00 a.m. We were eating at 9:30/10:00.

And furthermore, wasn't our country founded by people meeting in taverns that served all meals ... Delicious meals and drink?

As an elderly Pffttt Pffttt ... Our minds have more "stuff" from 'doing life' ... We are not just concerned with Finding our eyeglasses ... Or making sure the children are taken care of ... Now we keep a watchful eye over the "Bigger Picture" ... Many of us Pffttt Pffttts have "been there and done it" ...

We are not afraid to "SEE" the BIG Picture Scenarios ... and 'decern' what IS being decided today ... Re: Israel ... How it will impact us ... Sitting around the table at a Mom & Pop restaurant called "My Ding-A-Ling" in Okeechobee, Florida.

As you can observe ... Here in Okeechobee, the local Mom & Pop (small business) community supports Community Needs ... I happened to hear the woman, in charge of the Annual Blood Donation Drive, speak and explain what she has done to organize this event. What a pleasant way she has gone about it. Area businesses have donated for a huge Raffle ... Anyone donating blood is then entered to win for free ... You can also purchase raffle tickets. And the prizes have mounted in value "this" year. I love being a part of a community that combines forces when they see a need ... They fill the need.

This is my personal opinion as a 70 year old Pffttt Pffttt. And I stand behind my opening question ......

HIDDEN GEM IN OKEECHOBEE COUNTY It's not often that you get to dine in a restaurant and the owner introduces himself, and you see him working right alongside the waitresses. The owner was taking orders, refilling drinks and walking to tables asking if everyone needed anything. We have dined here several times and each time is a great experience. I personally love the okeechobee chicken sandwhich, chicken and waffle sandwhich. My husband loves the cattleman's smash burger. We share a BLT salad, it's a great portion. French fries are hot and fresh, food is always made fresh. Great experience here every time.

I will never forget the first time we dined here, my children were ages 3&5, and would lot stop squirming and arguing with each other. The owner offered my kids to go up to a cart that's in the front of the room, full of kids toys. Legs, blocks, coloring books. They eached picked a toy and sat down and behaved and we were able to enjoy our lunch. The owner was extremely kind and said that's what the cart is there for, that they know how it is with young kids. The staff are always extremely kind. Food is always...

Loved the food I live in Vero go to Okeechobee on weekends to see my son and his family we have ordered there a couple of times for delivery .but I did stop to get a Ruben and a sweet tea THE BEST /and the server's we're all awesome .thanks for the kindness you all showed me! That these days means a lot and I forget to take pictures it's so cute in there keep up the good work! See you soon went back this weekend get some home made soup! In Okeechobee this weekend from Vero Beach come here to see my son and daughter every time I come here I eat there had a Ruben was off the chain great food love it.went to Okeechobee this weekend and took my daughter she is in love with the loaded potato skins .never a let down thanks for the great service as always.back again this weekend went for lunch with my kids and grandkids as always...
