Downtown Benny's Pizza — Restaurant in Florida

Bringing my Dad home from running him around for his errands, he requested I also stop to pick him up dinner to take home with him.

He wanted a Spaghetti and Meatball dinner. He handed me a $20 bill and in I went while he stayed in the car because we were in a hurry.

The place was empty and one of the men greeted me right away. I placed his order and asked if it came with a salad? The gentleman replied no it comes with 2 garlic knots but I could get a salad for $3.95 more, I declined.

And then he told me the total, $20.21! I'm like wait, $20 for Spaghetti & Meatballs?? As I only had a $20 with me I told him I had money in the car. He was kind enough to take the .21 cents out of his tip jar to cover the total.

Now please note, my father is very elderly and he and I are both on tight budgets. So when I went back to the car and I told him I didn't have enough money to even tip the poor guy Dad he said why? When I told him about Spaghetti dinner was $20 AND it didn't even come with a salad he was very upset. He claimed, it should only have been $13.95 or something and a couple extra dollars for 2 Mballs. I did ask Dad perhaps he was looking at an very outdated menu? He didn't know.?

So when I went back in with the borrowed .21 cents plus a tip and then I asked the gentleman to check the price please?

And sure enough, Dad indeed have an outdated menu.

However, the lesson here is if you want just Spaghetti & Meatballs it's expensive!...

I really wanted to give this a 5, per the many recommendation from several friends. And I would have given them a 3 3/4 if the stars allowed. I am familiar with every kind of pizza there is out there. I come from the north and know good pizza! I spent the day buying up local pizza and tasting them and want to give honest reviews.

The customer service 5, until I realized the pizza was not well done as I requested. I asked 2 times, please make sure it is well done. The only reason I asked for well done, is because I also asked if they use fresh or canned mushrooms. If you use fresh mushrooms, there will always be a some liquid run off on the toppings, unless you cook them off a bit before adding them to the pizza. If there isn’t a button on the computer screen to add well done, extra crispy/ special request, there should be. The pizza tasted amazing, I immediately knew I loved the sauce, sausage and pepperoni. It was soggy and too much semolina on the crust. I’d like to add for $25.00 for 1 pizza, I should have been Wowed..

I always give a restaurant a second chance and I will see if they can redeem themselves. And I’ll update my review...

I came in 15 minutes before they closed. I felt bad and said I was going to leave and make something at home. They said no worries they could make a pizza for me. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza. The cost was a little over $18.00 including tip. When the pizza can out it was a pizza with only cheese. I felt bad again because I don’t like cheese pizza. I let the cashier know that I don’t like cheese pizza and ordered it with pepperoni. She apologized as she made a mistake and hit the wrong button. She went outside and got the cook who didn’t seem happy. He didn’t even wash his hands before handling my food for the second time. When I got my pizza back I opened it and it only had half the pizza with pepperoni. Again I don’t like cheese pizza, so I paid $18.00 for 4 slices of pizza. I let her know and she apologized again. I left and when I got home the pizza wasn’t completely cooked. The pizza dough was undercooked. So I ended paying $18.00...
